I suppose it has its deeper discussion points about long term planning etc..
But imagine coming on an Everton forum and reading Carlo Ancelotti was a poor appointment for Everton.
The most successful manager in Europe getting getting the cold shoulder.
When you look right now the fella was pulling out results in games that i dont even think we'd have a shot on target in now.
Pure bonkers.

What I will say is if his ultimate aim is to be a pressing team he can't play Onana as a 8 we need someone else. Onana is a six.

The fact he left speaks to the mess at the club both financial and at board level. That it's very hard to just "blame the manager" for our continual decline as much as I agree he should be doing better.

Onana

In an interview with Sport Magazine, Amadou Onana said, “Honestly, I love the coach (Frank Lampard) and I could tell you a lot about him but he’s the man who convinced me to continue my adventure here [Everton].”

“I would have never come to Everton because the former star, Frank Lampard was coaching there. He was an exceptional player, but I don’t sign for a club because of the name of its coach.”

“[I joined] For his good ideas, though. That’s where he seduced me. When I spoke to him, I realised he was a fascinating man.”

“I liked the feeling we had. I like the way he talked to me, the way he talked about football.”

That should set the cat amongst the pigeons on here.

I feel like there's a "but" just around the corner in that inter iew

Well Frank has either stopped talking or you‘re not listening, whatever it is it’s not working.

You go Glen Coco, way to give young players time to adapt.
An average player can adapt to playing for ninety odd minutes and doing his all, Onana plays for about thirty minutes and doesn’t look like he knows where he is or what he is supposed to do for the rest of the time. For £30M or more he should be doing a lot more than he has don.
