Our fans do this every year. Sign a couple of players and we've won the transfer window. They don't even care what players, just as long as we sign someone.
A relegated ally mc beal and trotsky and wolves 6th choice kopite defender.

Mosh has bought himself another 10 years grace now.

We shipped loads of goals last season

Sorting the defence was certainly a priority, so I can't blame the club for targeting it

To not get a striker as well by this stage is criminal though

We'll have played at least three games before getting one in

We're not making it easy for Lampard
It's high-stakes poker, isn't it?

There's clearly a target (probably Broja?) that is currently just out of reach, but may become viable just before the window closes.

It's a case of seeing how long we can hold our nerve, against the clear and obvious pressures of needing a striker as soon as is humanly possible.

On balance, I'd rather wait another couple of games for a striker that's going to offer more in the remaining 34 matches than snatch for a Rondon++.

But it's not as simple as that, as there's no guarantee we'll get the man we really want.

In conclusion, ?‍♂️.

Yet we have the opposite as well demanding we bring a striker in, regardless of how far down our list they are and the fact we clearly have main targets and are maybe waiting for their clubs to bring their targets in.

But no, we must have a striker in regardless of whether they fit what lampard and thelwell want.

It's an awful lot simpler than that. We must bring a forward in so we can score enough goals to not get relegated.

Lampard will be fuming with this, there is no way he is happy to wait around till the last day of the window.

I agree lampard won't be happy about it, but a freak injury to DCL pushed the necessity up and changed the face of the transfer window.

But, we also don't want to just waste money signing *checks notes* Che Adams, when if we had waited a week, we could then have got Broja who was clearly our main target.

We could have taken points from both games so far, so I'd be confident that we will still get enough over the rest of the season despite a little wait.

DCL getting an injury was always very possible so I don't know why we didn't prepare properly.

Broja is nowhere near good enough to wait around for.

I have no confidence whatsoever that this current squad can stay up because they can't score goals. Any positives from the opening 2 games are entirely negated by the fact we are so incredibly toothless. That won't change without proper quality being brought in.

He will want the right man though, the board seems to be wanting to do a window right, it's long overdue.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and assume that transfer strategy was agreed by all and FL is on board with holding out for the targets they all really want

Well they weren’t then were they? He scored 10 goals not 40. He obviously needs replacing but this window we were desperate to shore up defence and midfield. We conceded 66 goals in 38 games.
10 goals is a lot in a team that comes 16th. Why did we try to replace him with someone who got 0 and as a result got relegated.

I'm not deliberately trying to be contrarian with the majority view on this. I just don't agree with the consensus and the more I see us play the more confused I get. I've been saying we need goals brought in since before Richarlison went, so I'm starting to pull my hair out at our strategy this summer.

They can agree whatever they like but they need to be backed by the board. And there's been plenty of reports this summer than BK is back running negotiations.
