A predictable 3-4 nil defeat to City and I think it might be curtains for Lampard. I don’t want us to sack him and I don’t know why because the results are grim but I just don’t. Probably because I know whoever the board appoint we will be here again next season.

My biggest frustration today was not getting Cannon on earlier, he must of been stripped waiting for at least 10 minutes.

Mine was seeing three wolves players around the corner flag at the corner they scored.
Not one of ours approached.

I predict a heavy defeat at City followed by an abject display at Utd on TV and plenty of jeers etc from the travelling fanbase which will persuade Moshiri to act.

We had Digne and Richarlison starting last season.

Their loss, is bigger than the improvement of Coady/Tarkowski on Keane and Mina, or Keane an Holgate - IMO.

Richarlison scored or contributed a third of our goals.

We tried to mitigate his loss with McNeil and 0 goal and 1 assist in his last full season. And Neal Maupay.

Maupay is a decent little player off a target man but never, ever a number 9.

Whoever sanctioned the signing of McNeil and Maupay, believing they can replace Richy, deserved to be sacked right away.

The biggest loss over the last two years is the Icelandic one.

I don't think we were ever replacing Richarlison but we didn't mitigate his loss.

I said last season that I'd rather lose him on a free than sell for £50m if he didn't renew his contract because he's the difference in us staying up or going down.

I know we had to sell to be balance the books though but if we didn't, I'd have let him run down his contract he was that important.

If we never had him last season we'd have gone down.
 
Just seen his interview on bbc site.

It’s no wonder the players are so lethargic and half arsed with zero killer instinct and can’t kill a game off.

Looks to me like the collective lot of them are going through the motions.

Zero passion there from the manager.
 
Went to Goodison today for the first time in ages and was astonished by how abysmal the atmosphere was.

I’m starting to believe what the former Watford goalie Ben Foster said about us Everton fans the other month: that we are a gift to the opposition.

Maybe he has a point.
I imagine that constantly abusing and barracking your own players can’t really help matters, as much as we like to think it will.
