2022/23 Frank Lampard

I think Lampard will probably relegate us. The problem is, the club is such a badly run circus and hamstrung financially, that, at this stage, I think that whoever we can tempt to take our poison chalice of a job will also probably relegate is. I had high hopes for Lampard, but, he is really looking out of his depth now, the problems though go so much deeper than just the manager.
I think both things can be true.

Things definitely go much deeper than the manager at the club, that’s clear as crystal and won’t change with a new manager.

However at the same time I genuinely think Lampard is currently the worst and one of the most inexperienced manager in the premier league and its adding to our problems.

There are also clearly a few bad eggs in the squad, it was only after Bournemouth game that coady was the latest to call them out for lack of professionalism etc after several previous rallying calls from Coleman.

It's a results driven business and he's not stupid, he'll know he's on borrowed time now unless something dramatically changes. Our home form has been an absolute shambles this season, the football not good enough, set up not right, substitutions not right.

Doesn't hide the fact that it's not half chances we've missed in some of these games, they've been guilt edged sitters. Leicester at home (Iwobi and DCL), Bournemouth in the cup (Davies) and yesterday (Gordon, Muapay, Godfrey). Goals change games, change the mood, set the atmosphere up to positive.

Could have all been very different results and on a different path had players done their job properly and no doubt he'll no doubt be fuming deep down that the players haven't helped him at all. He'll just be another manager where the players have massively under performed.

My main concern is giving Gordon and Iwobi over inflated contracts and then Lampard getting sacked.

Barring a miracle turn around I think thisnis only going to end one way though we know the board will be more than happy to hang him out to dry along with the DoF so they have someone to hide behind and doesn't show their gross negligence.

Shame Thelwells 120 point strategic review didn't include buying a top end striker as point number 1.

He won't win games without strikers!

We sold Richarlison and we have again thought DCL is reliable as did Rafael but ultimately he sets the team to fail by asking Maupay/Gordon/Gray to play as a Target Man.

Transfers and injuries don't help but his tactics are called into question.

He is official worse than Rafael and once you hit that level it's only a matter of time.

Its pretty much a brand new team though from the begining of last season?
Only Pickford, Iwobi and Gray/Gordon from our starting 11 have been here longer than 12 months

3 wins in 16 league games.
Frank looks broken.
The clock is ticking.
Frank should pull on a shirt I reckon he would do us more good back in mid-field than as our manager, what’s it been four or five years since he played (USA) I doubt he would be any worse than the present rubbish we’ve got going around.

I think it's important to not ignore where our weaknesses were last year. Defensively, we were atrocious last season, therefore it was rightly a key area.

We also had a very poor midfield, so it was another priority. These were, rightly, the first points on the transfer schedule, and they've arguably improved.

Wrongly, I think they've bet on Richarlison being replaceable if others up their game and stay fit, which is now coming back to haunt us.

Nevertheless, I don't haven an issue with them prioritising the defence and midfield as long as the attack was addressed too; they have to do it now, and well.

Was trying to think yesterday when was the last decent player/Manager, unheard of these days.

Holgate. Keane. Coleman. DCL. Davies. Mina. Doucoure. The above players that you mentioned as well. That’s a core of the squad.

Maybe bad eggs is the wrong phrase, but the constant message when we play poorly is that the ‘squad’ doesn’t work/train hard enough. Coady said that there was drop in personal standards and pride…Coleman has said the same…something isn’t right.

Issue way deeper than the manager...given that we've gone through how many since moyes now?

all with different backgrounds and styles yet same results each time.

I think in hindsight most managers we hired did "ok" jobs but two things stand oot:

1. Moshiri fired them too quickly
2. The fanbase turned too quickly which pushed point 1 along quicker.

Koeman - 7th
Alladyce - 8th
Silva - 8th
Ancelotti - 10th

Obviously Carlo left himself but the 3 prior for me should have been given more time. Obviously rank recruitment accelerated both Koeman and Silva's departures but the fanbase were fuelled by ambishun also lets not forget.

Lampard has had the benefit of zero expectation this season from most - if we were sat 13th now most wouldn't be bothered in the slightest so he's massively cocked up.

Have to feel for Lampard in some respect.

All the quality we had has been sold. The biggest issue has been the appointment for that fat Spanish chunt. He was allowed to get rid of James and then Digne. That coupled with Sigurdson, we have little to no quality in being able to produce goals.

Then they sell Richarlison from beneath him, what’s he meant to do? Let’s have it right, Grey cost 1.5m because he’s dogmuck. Gordon is absolutely terrible, lads stalling on a 100k a week contract but can’t even finish a 1on1, where it’s harder to miss than score.

McNeil & Maupay is on KT. He’s responsible for signing off on players, McNeill is honestly one of the most pointless wide players I’ve ever seen. He can’t beat a man.

I like Lampard, but unfortunately it’s getting to that time.

The players that will be bought this Jan, to attempt to save this car crash, need to be players that can be used weather Lampard is in charge or not.

Otherwise we get dogmuck like Mykolenko. If he wasn’t Ukrainian he wouldn’t be playing, and as much as I don’t like Duncan Ferguson, if his comments on that train about Myko are true, well at least he had him figured out.
