He looked really lost yesterday. Indecision at this level isn't a look that breeds confidence.

He had Cannon stripped off and ready for 8 minutes before finally bringing him on. Was he hoping in those 8 minutes Maupay would do what he hasn't done in the ten or so previous games?

Of course, the bigger issue is, why are we pinning our hopes on a teenage debutant to grab a winner against the bottom placed team? When you look at the money invested over the past 6 or 7 years, our only attacking options are an academy centre forward and an inconsistent winger who cost us 1.7 million pounds.

The team shows very little in the way of attacking movement, and when they do get chances they very often fluff them. Gordon, again. Wonderful touch, bottled it. Iwobi has to do better with his header. Gordon, loose ball, shoots way wide, ricochet to Godfrey who strikes it with all the venom of a 4 year old on Crosby beach.

In the moments before the winning goal, we had virtually every player in the Wolves half. The centre backs were passing back and forth because nobody had the brain to move into a position to receive the ball and give proper options. I read a lot about Iwobi and his poor effort in running back. He's one of the few that did try to get back. The majority just watched on from afar.

Sadly, I can't see Lampard turning this around. Worryingly, I don't see anybody turning this around.

For the first time in my life I think we're getting relegated this season. The result of over two decades of gross mismanagement under our current chair.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

We had at least 4 really good chances we should have scored from.
I'm assuming you're including something like the one where Gordon received a pass on the edge of the box and lost it before really doing something in this. I can't really get to four otherwise.

I can only get to three. The one where Gordon got saved and the weird Iwobi header from a set play plus the goal. And even then you're still looking at 2 of those being set plays. Given our possession in the game it is a poor return.

Gordon saved chance
Myko cross to Gordon that should have just been nudged back to Maupay
Maupay left footed strike
Maupay 1v1 “sprint”
Iwobi’s

We should have been home and dry yesterday.

Yeah see when you're getting into something like Maupay's from the edge of the box that just says to me we're not doing nearly enough in the final third. That's not much of anything.

Lampard looked to me like a man who has been wading from the shore and has now walked off a shelf into deeper water and has no confidence he can swim against the current! Yesterday was a hugely depressing day against a team who were clueless for the bulk of the game, but gained confidence from our ineptitude.

He seems devoid of ideas, the players dont seem to be responding to him (despite all the cobblers about how great he is to work for) and the crowd coming out of the game were as angry as I have seen them since the Allardyce days. If he doesnt get punted now, he has very little time after the transfer window to turn things around. We desperately need a striker and a midfielder with courage. So many of them on hundreds of grands per year but don't have the arse to receive the ball and move it forward. :(

Losing in injury time is a gut punch.
Emotions are absolutely on edge

If your big hope is Iwobi..... My God you are f....d. The guy is the most ineffective attacking midfielder in the premier. 1 goal per season...

Feeling a bit deflated, starting to think there isn't a manager out there that can get us consistent. These last few years have been the hard watch that it's completely killed my love for the game.

We have tried every type of manager and we just cannot shake the lethargy and inconsistency out of the team. I don't know what to do for the best. I want someone to succeed but for that we are going to have to suffer these ups and downs. I want to look long term but he has to give us something to work with in terms of results.

Still don't think another manager is going to make the forwards clinical. We should have won that game yesterday, we didn't due to profligacy from the forwards yet again.

I don't know what the solution is to be honest, sacking lampard won't be the magic brush you think it will in my opinion the next guy has the same problems but IF we are going to sack him, needs to be now before the window opens, that's why I don't think he's going anywhere the timing isn't making sense after a break, should have been done then if it's a factor.

I think Lampard will probably relegate us. The problem is, the club is such a badly run circus and hamstrung financially, that, at this stage, I think that whoever we can tempt to take our poison chalice of a job will also probably relegate is. I had high hopes for Lampard, but, he is really looking out of his depth now, the problems though go so much deeper than just the manager.
