2022/23 Frank Lampard

He just has to go, only Mike Walker and Howard in his third spell have a lower win percentage than Frank and what do all three have in common? They have all managed the club when we have been at our closest to relegation. Howard just avoided it and was gone at the end of the season. Walker kept us up at the death and was gone halfway through the next season when we were again at the bottom. This is what is happening with Frank. We cant keep giving him free passes because he aint Benitez. We keep saying that its not his fault and the players are crap but we dont excuse Benitez for the same reason. We have lost Richarlison but we are a stronger squad overall than last season and we are doing no better. We are posing no real attacking threat in games. Richy would struggle in this team like he did for the majority of last season

We dont have a squad to challenge the top 7 clubs at the moment which is not good for a club like ours as it is. However even with the squad we have we should be able to comfortably finish above 3 of the other 12 clubs. At the moment it doesn't look like we will and that is down to the manager. I am only confident at the moment of finishing above Southampton

It isn't burying my head in the sand at all, I'm fully aware of the situation, only I can see see the mitigating factors whereas you just want to stamp your feet so we have to go through the same drawn out process to hire the next duffer who can't get our forwards scoring, assisting or even making good decisions in the final third.
Any coach can make excuses and point to mediating circumstances. How much emphasis should be placed on it usually depends on how much experience, competence and results the manager has to show.

It is also the manager's job to devise strategies and tactics to win matches based on the players he has available. If they are so miserable, well then you have to plan for a less ambitious tactic, until you have the players you need to play the football you want. Some are very good at it, while others are unable to adapt. This is not a completely unknown problem. Everton have not been blessed with good strikers in the last 20-25 years, although there have been some highlights. However, especially under Moyes, they have always found ways to the goal.

I think we have a team that is excellent at playing more direct and counter-attacking football. We have an English national team goalkeeper, Tarkowski and Coady have matches for the national team, and lots of PL experience.

Onana, Guaye, and AD are all hard-working midfielders who can win the ball and disrupt the opposition's possession.

Gordan and Gray are both players who have solid speed and can threaten the space behind the defensive line - given that we play more directly.

What we don't have are players who can create imbalance with the ball, which is the most difficult thing in football. Therefore, we have to be far more direct in our game, and it has to go faster in the longitudinal direction.

For me, it's a perfectly fine team, which there should be no problem in leading to a safe position in about the middle of the table.

I don't know why anybody would think we need to go through further precious chances for points before making a definitive call on Frank Lampard's tenure. Doing so is not "holding your nerve." It's putting your head in the sand and gambling with the few remaining chances we have to rescue our status.

It's been clear since November that we needed a new manager. That's not hindsight. We should have the replacement lined up and ready to come in on New Year's Day. That's what a club learning from its mistakes would do.
We kept Everton up last season, not Frank.

Frank has now realised that we may not do that every season.

Should have been sacked before the world cup. The Bournemouth x 2 clusterfest would have had him walk the plank in any serious club.

But sacrificing Frank and leaving the board as is really is nothing more rearranging the deckchairs.

Still no real talk of him going.
Will be here for a bit yet.
Wouldnt say much time left. If we were battered by City 4/5-0+, 3 wins 17 games. 8 wins overall since january I think? Should be sacked. I think he may have lost a few in the dressing room already tbh. I dont want him in charge for the brighton & southampton games, it's important we take 4-6 pts from those.

Should of been sacked during the world cup so when we dithered on his replacement it wouldn't been during the season. He's definitely fated to be sacked should of got it over with sooner. Its going to be similar to Benitez where we'll let him sign his players before the sacking then bring his replacement in on the last day of the window

Why would the players believe in anything he tells them to do? They can't execute it and he tells them to do it again and they're embarrassed every time with comical errors. There's defo discontent in the dressing room

Based on what fella? I dont see players at this club who are better than 12 other clubs. Not even remotely close.
We need a real reality check.

Rock and a hard place. I really don’t know what scares me more, sticking with Frank and having hope that he’ll turn a corner or what absolute crazy Moshiri would bring in, finding it increasingly hard to hold any faith in either option..

Well in that case if we have one of the worst 3 squads in the premier league and one of the worst managers then it is impossible to stay up

We're down in the worst 5 or 6 for sure.
Name me another club with a worse thread bare forward line?
I'd say we have the worst forward line by a distance. Not that difficult when you only have two. And ones constantly injured.
