2022/23 Frank Lampard

Players are clearly playing for him. That is what matters come what may.
The other side is you could have a decent manager who has us comfortable enough to not need to play life and death matches in May.

I mean I do give Lampard credit for being able to get the team together and pushing hard the same direction match after match. It's why he should replace Southgate. This is the PL and tactical ability matters.

It's actually a mixed bag because the longer the run of playing bad and not losing goes on the longer Frank will continue to take us down the chute.

Winning would be different because to survive we desperately need to win matches. But a draw that doesn't really help that can be spun as some great thing is tough.
You’re a proper oddball - it’s a great point, hopefully a start of a run now, we take it and move on.

I mean it does help, what a ridiculous thing to say.

Weird. He tactically got a draw away against the greatest manager ever. (according to some).

Because it triggers even bigger bellends like you lol

The most liked post in the history of the forum, is all the confirmation that anyone needs.

Anyway back on topic, SOOOOPA FRANKIE LAMPARD.

For me it should be clear cut with managers.

If they keep losing games then I don’t care who they are they should be on a knife edge.

Performances like today help and gives him a little breathing space. Prem is so cutthroat though that if he loses next two he’s in big trouble. Hopefully we can go on a little run now and he gets some breathing space as I’d like to see if he could progress as a manager because there are positive signs amongst the rubbishness.

Pretty much thought this was going to be his last week in charge. We got a point which won't save him alone but you would hope that might give a bit of confidence and like the RS game earlier this season was a bit of a springboard for a run of decent performances. Fingers crossed they do that again.

I don't get fans who are anything but happy tonight, we were 9-1 with some for a draw and this result ends a long sequence of defeats against city. What else could we have hoped for in the circumstances.

Yes so clueless I was able to tell you all 8 months ago that we'd be here again under Lampard. But give him time guys, one day it'll come good right?

I'm not having a pop mate, but if you finish on 39 points, and sell your best player in the summer, it's not an enormous stretch to say you struggle next season.

This isnt to defend Lampard, but I think under any manager, maybe A Carlo type aside, we would have had a tough season.

No, he’s set us up tactically very astutely in most games against the big teams - credit for first game of the season against Chelsea where we were unlucky to lose and against the RS where we got a draw etc.

What he struggles at is breaking down average/poor teams and getting wins we need, much like Wolves. Personally, I put that down to crap forwards rather than bad tactics, but what you think the problem is there is up to you.
