2022/23 Frank Lampard

He’s done. There’s little point in wasting more time with him but, sadly, this disgrace of a board won’t have a plan or anyone lined up. They’ll fiddle while Goodison burns and waste the transfer window like last time before appointing someone completely inappropriate. There’s a lot of revisionism about Frank’s appointment. The day Benitez was sacked, I’d wager not a single Evertonian thought “let’s get Lampard”. In the event, we were backed into a corner with the choice of him or that maniac Vitor. All of a sudden, he was the “fan’s choice”. I’m sad its turned out like this. I like Frank as a person but he’s an absolutely woeful football manager. Completely and utterly tactically inept.

He's a Tory and should never have been brought in here and he's never "got us" - a phrase that was used purely because we won a few games and he fist pumped at the Gwladys street.

The problem is though he's not the main problem.

Diverting energy into sacking him is merely putting a other sticking plaster on the massive gun shot wound or organising the deck chairs on the titanic.

Moshiri is the problem and certain players are the problem.

The main root cause is Moshiri of course.

I cant get my head round how a top midfielder cant pick and set up his midfield. It picks itself for f**** sake. I know onana was out but its a mess of his own making. That tonight was sackable. I think baines will be in charge for friday and it will be ferguson or martinez. No compo needed.
Absolutely bizarre isn't it one of the best premier league midfielders of the last 25 years can't pick a functioning midfield, also he has played for some of the greatest managers ever and it's like nothing has sunk in at all!

Wow - absolute garbage. Since when does his political preference make a difference?

My eternal disappointment in Lampard is I saw enough in him last season to think he was intelligent enough to get us going.

He seemed adaptable and wise enough to know what works and what doesn't. His backroom staff are seemingly very highly rated.

He identified our weaknesses in terms of leadership, being a soft touch and went out to fix it.

It feels like we're trying to run before we can walk.

Yes he isn't helped by this sham of a board and utter lunacy in not getting him a forward but he seems to have gone completely off piste in terms of what he believes EFC fans desire.

He seems to have become fixated with this side to side style which gets us know where.

Will always be grateful for his efforts last season but he's not getting anything with these players or this board and the writing is on the wall.

He wrote his own p45 this evening by changing everything that was good about Saturday to this pathetic display.

What a great shame although part of me can't hold him completely responsible as he's been badly let down by his board. We all have.

His biggest quality has always been that he isn't that fat prick Benitez. That's it. He's not going to make it as a top level manager, same as Stevie Me.
We need (and have needed) a manager with an identity, a style of play, and a history of performing well against the odds. How was Lampard ever that person?

Weird how it wasn't an issue when we came from 2-0 against Palace to secure Prem survival with a win, but now it's the go-to screech, isn't it. (If only Pep wasn't a supporter of Catalan Independence AND Frank was a life-long leftist we'd have probably won 7-0 last time out......... almost guaranteed).
