2022/23 Frank Lampard

Lampard can consider himself hugely fortunate that Moshiri appears to be at the end of his tether with this club, because in years gone by he'd have been queuing up outside the job centre long before now. He has to beat Southampton, by whatever means necessary. Not even a draw will do, we simply have to win.

You can't categorise this game with the likes of Wimbledon, Coventry or Palace last season because we aren't in last chance saloon, yet, but the stakes feel just as high to be honest.

The fact he’s been left in charge for this game is negligence imo. It’s clear and obvious to absolutely everyone that he isn’t turning it around at this point. In fact we might well win on Saturday and then get utterly spanked in our next 3 after that, which leaves us no better off. I have backed Lampard for as long as I realistically could, but he was done after Bournemouth. There was no way back after that, impossible to recover.

I'm still backing him mate. Realise I'm probably mad to do so and understand. I am hoping a win against Southampton can put us back on track.

I don’t think there’s a turning point on its way if I’m totally honest mate.

Yeah it's defo more hope than expectation on my part. Has to be minimum a win against Southampton and at least a draw against West Ham... Hoping that for Arsenal and Liverpool, a return to end of last season tactics might just get us at least a point from those 2.

But yeah this has been the Everton way since Moyes left, leave a manager hanging out to dry until they are at the lowest possible point rather than being proactive.

I suppose if we draw it's hard to be sure. If we lose he is gone, no doubt about it.

He should already have been sacked because his records is awful, because the club are under big pressure due to the fan pressure.

But if we lose on Saturday, we are odds on favourites to go down and they will have no choice but to change manager. They have left it as long as possible to avoid a change, and Saturday is that point.
Saturday is too late.

Saturday is too late.

Quite possibly, but we are where we are. I've said many times I think he should have gone, but while he is still here I don't see any other option than supporting him and hoping things turn. Saturday is a must win game, simple as that.

Even if they had sacked the manager, I strongly doubt they would have had a replacement lined up, so I doubt it makes any difference, especially since they have again been negligent in the transfer market. If we don't sign players we have no chance of staying up, regardless of who is our manager.

I'm beginning to suspect it's either a new manager or new attacker this window. We don't have the money for both.

Hope i'm wrong though.

We played well and drew against City away and then got battered 4 - 1 by Brighton at home. We played well against United away but still got beat 3 - 1 and we then play fellow relegation battlers Southampton this Saturday who will know exactly how to rattle us. Considering we have only won 1 in the last 12 and 3 all season and made no new signings yet whatsoever i am not even a tiny bit optimistic. I have Deja Vu.
Because Lamps has no idea how to coach a team to break down a low block and his tactics are all wrong at home, it's a massive midfield press that empties our midfield and a high line with two slow defenders. If he doesn't change it to a 532 at home I can see Saints getting a result yes. Because sure as hell he can't change it in game.

Depends if any forwards are signed. Issues everywhere but the club, and i mean club not lampard, is staring into the abyss with still the worst forward line options in this league because even a new manager has no options if none brought in.

I dont see a turning point either. Mainly due to we've got as many bland average players as most others.
