2022/23 Frank Lampard

He has had quite a bit of time and all he has done is make us worse than compared to last season.
We're no better, same issues but with better defensive CBs. As i said, early signs looked like an improvement and somewhat "comfort" for the season.

I didnt disagree with your view, just pointing out that not everything is on him, but he has plaeyd his own role in the current mess as well as those above, before and below. A year is enough time to show some improvement but not enough to put a side back to a strong healthy position and to really have true impact.

Frank should be doing better regardless of the circumstances given to him by his predecessors, his bosses and so forth, absolutely. We aren't expecting the world from him, or the players or even the club at the moment.

I'm not saying he should stay, but this cycle of sacking managers constanty, or changing managers does not work at all. How can any manager have a succesful period if they're given one transfer window to actually change things with playing staff?

Problem is, i dont know what Manager comes in that instantly, even fi its just short term has an impact. I dont know what manager comes in and suddenly gets a tune out of DCL staying fit and being a better finisher, Maupay doing something football related on a football pitch, Gordon and Gray suddenly getting end product. Gordon is still young and can do so, but Gray is the footballer he is, he isn't suddenly becoming consistent.

The infamous evening at Turf Moor yes.

Give that he has had his best player sold and replaced with players he obviously doesn’t want then what do you honestly expect from him (or any other manager). We scraped out of relegation last season, sold our best player, are seemingly about to sell our second. No manager can thrive in that environment. Carlo saw the writing on the wall and rightly bailed.

Him and Thelwell did the recruitment this summer, he would have signed off on all the signings himself.

He is garbage.

He signed off players who he is now proceeding to not play? Just like Benitez wanted El Ghazi? The club has been forcing crap players on managers who don’t want them for a while now.

Do you think Pep could get this team playing like City? Not being able to doesn’t make him garbage. If we aren’t going to give Lampard the type of player he wants then by all means sack him. But it won’t be because he is garbage but because we hired a manager and then didn’t give him the tools to manage the way he wants.

He is utter garbage, only Mike Walker who has been worse in all of our history.

Other than Vinagre, which of the players that came in the summer is he not playing?

We have no head of recruitment and it was confirmed in the summer that Lampard and Thelwell would be doing the recruitment in tandem.

IMO he has a certain philosophy on the way he wants the game to be played, which is high pressing and possession etc, but he is not really that good at implementing it, or he simply doesn't have the right players. When he plays this way he leaves us wide open and easy to play through.

When he sets us up, IMO reluctantly, to sit behind the ball and hit teams more selectively on the break, we have looked more solid and have had better results.

It's small margins but ultimately that's what defines management to a large degree.

Good managers do at least slightly better than expected with what they have, better managers do more.

Expectations are low but we still have to have them. The situation would look far better with another 6 points on the board. His in-game management is poor and this contributes largely to where we are.

How many league wins since he took over? I think it was 12 in total from 42 games so what, 9 league wins is it? We are going down on this basis.

I don't think Lampard is even standing still at this stage, his stats are careering downwards on a Mike Walker trajectory.

You really can't excuse the case for change at this point.

We have to scrap and scrape for every point. Every single point. Make ourselves compact and harder to beat. Play the percentage game. Lampard gives me no encouragement that he is adapting to our situation.

He has the worst squad in all our history. Genuinely he does. Probably the least balanced in all the league.

It’s always confirmed that the manager has an input on transfers. And yet managers keep having players bought for them.

McNeil, Maupay. Considering according to you he wanted them neither of them are first choice. Given the previous noises around McNeil when Benitez was at the club is would be a staggering coincidence that two mangers both wanted the same crap player. But he was easy pickings for the club to sign and that is how it works at Everton. Managers get the players the club doesn’t have to work too hard to sign.
