Tactically he is poor

I keep reading that. Just out of interest if you go back to Carlo Ancelotti. He tried to be more offensive and i think the first few games he got the shock of his life. We won a few early on like the brighton game. But that was when he had a fit digne/calvert lewin flying. The early stages of james rodriguez, Richarlison etc. But that brighton game the signs were there. We won 4-2 but we were very open. Knock on a few games later. Rodriguez was already cooked. The offensive side was starting to struggle to counter balance the lack of quality elsewhere. And Ancelotti was no idiot. Before long we were camped. His tactic very quickly became park the bus.

So tactic wise if lampard had parked the bus all season we might have a few more points. He hasnt. And the danger was/is he put to much faith in players who cant cut it.

Roll on sean dyche. The lidl version of ancelotti. He will park that bus.
I think thats where we're at. One tactic only. Spoil the game.

As you say Ancellotti was no idiot. He knew we had to walk before we could run.

Crazy comment by Lampard to suggest he expected another relegation battle this season after the Palace game last season. Yes we sold Richarlison, but yes £90m was put back into the squad. He's off his head.

No, he's right. We just escaped relegation, we bolstered the squad but not fully, we were never gonna jump from that to Top 10 with other clubs also strengthening.

We narrowly escaped relegation because he through results away against Brentford at home and Burnley away. That comeback against Palace was all emotion and little tactics.

Fulham have just been promoted and are 6th. Good management & the right additions means you can have a good season regardless. Not signed the right players in forward areas and the tactics and management has been poor and thats why we are where we are

Well, nobody said top 10. There is a huge difference between expecting to be in a relegation fight and comfortable being clear of it despite finishing in the bottom half. For him to come out and say that is staggering. He got the Richarlison money and an extra £40m on top to plug the gaps in the squad.

90m, come off it
McNeil up to £20m
Maupay around £15m
Onana up to £33m
Garner around £15m
Gueye around £5m
= £88m

Not including a loan fee for Coady either, which you'd assume may be a million or two.

But let's say £80m. If you can't plug a Richarlison-shaped hole in a squad with that then you've got no chance as a manager.

Did we, tbh I've babbled on for years about having a bit of stability because the amount of managers we've been going through is a joke, not trying to be clever after the event, but how are you supposed to manage four or five previous managers players, with the new ones you're trying to integrate. Impossible task, especially when the players you're trying to sell are on high wages and are lower value. FFP don't get me started on that.
In total agreement.
