When it comes to managers, does it matter if "they know the Premier League"?

Di Zerbi, Loptegui, Cooper, Ten Hag all doing OK and Jones is turning Southampton around, none of these had PL experience before this season.

I remember Ten Hag being a shout for us but it was trodden down because he was the manager of the biggest team in a farmers league, much like Postecoglou, how many would have him now?
I reckon I could write 10,000 words on the whole PL experience BS/nonsense just off the top of my head, let alone if I put any proper research into it. Utter load of crap it is.

If he was sacked which would be a shame but probably necessary I’d like to think Dyche could drag a few wins out of the team and at least go back to being competitive.
Burnley were rarely competitive under Dyche. They were nearly always circling the relegation places. He plays percentages football and when you play that way for long enough your luck will eventually run out, which is exactly what happened.

He’s not some pragmatic tactician, which is what we probably need.

The players we’ve got probably wouldn’t be able to carry out the instructions of a pragmatic tactician, they need to get back to basics first.

We’ve been playing basic football all season.
I don’t think they have tbh, how many times do they try playing out from the back and all the other crap that goes with it. The formation is constantly changing, we started the season with a back 3, then it went to a 4 and last few games it’s been a back 5.

Not sure what the answer is. We keep going through managers and nothing changes. No matter who we sign, nothing changes. I can only conclude that many things throughout the club need to change simultaneously to make any significant difference to our plight. Board, manager, players
The reason for the above is simple. No strategy or plan. Add in an incompetent board and this is what you end up with.

Not naive in the slightest. The dice has to be rolled, as it’s the last one. A new manager might not halt the slide, but one thing is certain and that is Frank Lampard definitely won’t. I don’t agree with yours and others hysteria on the squad either. This is NOT a bottom three squad of players so please stop making out these are championship level players that no manager could possibly keep in the division because that is just utter horse sh!te. A competent manager keeps this team up with few problems.

I've said since the summer I do not believe this team has the quality to avoid a relegation fight - by that I mean goalscoring and creativity. For me we have at best the 2nd worst attack in the league, the only comparable side in terms of quality is Bournemouth. If your attack is that poor, you will not get to midtable.

Our defence is also nowhere near as improved as people say. That Southampton equaliser yesterday was a complete disaster. 2 of our centre halves jump for the same ball, both nowhere near it, then Godfrey gets turned inside out, and there is no midfielder or wing back on the cover. Not to mention the fact we were so deep they won the knock down on our 18 yard line.

This team is really BAD and the coach is out of his depth. Both can be true, and both I believe are true.

The problem is we've had years of dysfunctional purchasing (a scatter gun approach), which has drained our precious resources and brought in instability.

Now there's (supposed to be) a plan, we're heavily restricted and the players we're bringing in may not be to the standard, or we're not able to cover all bases.

Not so long ago, we were blessed with players such as Lukaku, Richarlison and Stones, to name a few. Now, we've had to sell, that's another issue...

... but the replacements have been way below par. The defence and midfield may have improved, whereas our front line has been neglected over and over.

This is where the problems lie. We're always going to have areas where we need to improve, but we allow at least one area to be deficient to a point of negligence.
