I don't disagree long struggle to stay up whoever the manager is. We need a goal scorer as much as a new manager. I get he is trying things but he also keeps changing statistically from pressing to sit in, from passing style to direct and formation wise even when we got a good result with 532 he changed it to 433, the next week which has rarely worked this season, I'm convinced some players are confused. Also his in game management is chronic. Again yesterday Saints took the initiative second half by making changes early, he sat on his hands.
When he played a back five last season, people were jumping up and down for him to play 433.

Playing a back five against city and letting them have possession and play backs to the wall footy is one thing - I personally wouldn’t have been happy to see us set up like that at home to a relegation rival.

You can’t play five at the back with Coleman and Mkyo at fullback. It requires fullbacks to pose a threat or the system is pointless. Add in Gray, McNeil, Gordon and Iwobi and there is nothing going forward.

There’s nothing there, these players aren’t good enough. There isn’t a formation that will get them playing. They’re bottom three standard compared to the rest of the teams in the league - easily.

Will the board sign a few wide forwards, minimum, with creativity and goals in them? That’s all that will keep us up.

FL should have been sacked for the results against Bournemouth, but there were also potential advantages in terms of the time we would have had to bed a new manager in to work with a full squad barring four internationals at the World Cup (which also speaks to the quality of the playing staff within the squad. That same time could have been used to reassess any identified Targets in the transfer window, but also with the foresight that we may have got a new manager bounce in the proverbial ‘six pointer’ games against Wolves, Southampton and West Ham
