2022/23 Frank Lampard

I'm not making any predictions on this now.

Southampton was the game I finally broke on Lampard, and I expected the club would, too.

I think if there hadn't been so much focus on the board, they might have kicked Lampard in the wake of that defeat.

As things stand, I think even they are bright enough to realise it would've looked like one colossal distraction exercise to torpedo him there and then.

I also think the upper club hierarchy is in full self-preservation mode now. The interests of Everton FC are secondary.
Yeah, remember how much focus was put on the board and owner when they were sounding out Benitez and especially after he had been sacked? They want no part of that right now, which is absolutely factoring into Moshiri's thinking. Considering his lost interest in the club, maybe we shouldn't be surprised that he doesn't care enough to go through another manager change, even if it means the destruction of the club.

Exactly, I thought he would have gone after Bournemouth week tbh, then the further defeats and nothing - you can’t tell what this crank owner and unfit for purpose board are going to do next.

I certainly didn’t predict them targeting and slandering the one decent thing the club has going for it prior to our biggest game of the season….

And maybe most importantly, this would be the first manager change without Usamov's input and interest (probably). That shouldn't discounted here.

I don't think if you looked purely on paper at Brighton and Fulhams squads that you would pencil them in for 6th and 7th at the moment. Maupay looks like the worst footballer on earth for us but at Brighton he scored 8 goals. If we had signed Andreas Peireira and Willian they'd have been crap. We have bad players but a decent manager would be getting a lot more out of them.

Our squad is in no way worse than Bournemouth

That doesn’t make it a mid table squad.

I'd be very surprised if there's no communication on Everton matters between Moshiri and Usmanov at the moment.

(P.S. like the name and corresponding avatar. My favourite Wes Anderson!)
Cheers :)

Yeah no doubt. He just needs to keep his camera off on the Zoom interviews and adopt a fake name when he signs on after that Guardian article the other day.

The situation with him in charge is that desperate that getting something from the west ham game might be more likely to relegate us than a defeat
Spot on and terrifying. We could get something from that game or just play well and get beat and literally lose every remaining game this season. The give him one more game lark should have ended last November.
