2022/23 Frank Lampard

I have no sympathy for lampard. I bit my lip and gave him time but he would rather watch us play his way and lose than do whats needed to win points. Thats his job and he is choosing to ignore whats happening. Or he is that bad he cant see it. Both are reasons to get rid. Hes had a full seasons worth of games in charge and has won 9. Its a disgrace. Play midfielders in midfield you thick beaut. Thats why they are called midfielders. The clue is in the name.

It's not Rafael Benitez fault that Lampard, who most of the fans wanted, is a terrible manager who rather get Everton relegated than give up his payoff money.
“Most of the fans wanted”? Only when faced with a choice of him and Bill’s mate Vitor Perreira. That was what this board served us up as options. A loose cannon, done nothing for years maniac or Frank “falling upwards” Lampard. The day Benitez was sacked, I don’t remember there being a clamour by the majority of fans to go all out for our one and only choice Frank. It was a choice between being kicked in the balls or kicked in the teeth. Both crap options.

What is this set up? It's just a void in midfield, we are playing a passing style with nobody in midfield dropping deep to receive the ball and freedom for other team's to pick us apart.

This is exactly the problem we have every week. It means we are easy to defend against because there is no one picking up pockets of pace and the forwards just stand in a line. It also means we are always vulnerable to a counter attack. The Southampton second goal came from them winning the ball by their own area and getting to the edge of our box unopposed. Wolves was the same. The complete lack of shape and organisation in midfield is a massive problem and is what makes me think a different manager who was more tactically astute would get more from this team- in spite of their limitations. Coady and Tarkowski have their strengths, but facing quick counter attacks is not one, and the way we set up each week leaves them exposed. It's bizarre given Lampard was a standout midfielder of his generation that this is the area of the pitch he seems most feckless in sorting out.

Replace with Big Dunc and Andy Gray ASAP! Richard Keys can make the tea
Dunc and Gray could tag team DDB, can't see the point of them otherwise, and I don't think Keys is qualified to make tea. We need proven, experienced tea makers with bags full of tactics that can strain and squeeze the most out of our squad of dried vegetable matter

The thing I find odd is that a lot of the media cover about the West Ham game is how Davy Moyes might get the bullet if WHU lose to Everton. Firstly I find it laughable that any pundit thinks they'll lose to us and, secondly, it ought to be Frank who's more likely to be under pressure.

It will obviously be a draw though.

I think Lampards here for the season sadly.

I would have sacked him after Bournemouth.

But if they did stupidly decide he stays on, Wolves SHOULD have been the final straw.

The point at City was very good, for a club on its arse, but the 2 league defeats after it are a disgrace.
Not being able to get it right tactically against the same team after the first hammering says it all really. He also couldn't get a reaction from the players which was again should have had the alarm bells ringing. Could and should have gone but as usual they will leave it to the last second. It's clear there isn't a penny to be spent and we can't afford to pay-off another manager and his backroom staff. Franks record is truly abysmal and whether he is likeable or not is irrelevant. I don't know where we go from here but this feels worse than last season and that's considering we had the FSW until mid January. The the right man could turn it around to keep us up, but we're very unlikely to find that man, or more importantly then convince him to come here.
