No manager is going to resign and give up the money, but there is a bit more to that argument.

If you are the manager who takes Everton down after 60 odd years, you are absolutely finished at the top level. He would do well to find a championship job in future if he gets us relegated

I think if he leaves now or goes down his reputation is still very low in the game. Same as Gerrard's.
