How much has Arsenal spent on players under Arteta?

Whose their biggest signing since he took over?

Give that to Thelwell and Lampard and im sure they'd be doing alot better.
They wouldn't be top of the league. They might avoid relegation.

Arsenal have made a couple of astute signings this year. Odegaard and Zinchenko have made a big difference. Jesus played a part early in the season but he's spent a lot of time injured. The players who are making that team tick every week are not on the whole more expensive than our players. Ben White might be the outlier. Odegaard cost the same as Iwobi. Zinchenko cost a little bit more than Dwight McNeil. Saka, Martinelli and Saliba were not expensive even by Everton standards.

Overall, since Arteta's appointment, they might have spent £100 million more than us. Significant, but nowhere near significant enough to explain the relative performance of these teams. Especially given that they've essentially shipped out well over £100 million's worth of players for free: Auba, Ozil, Lacazette, Pepe, Mkitharyan.

I'd like to think that if they are firing Lampard, he has been informed and isn't hearing all thos through the media.

He's been treated terribly by the club since the end of last season. They are asking him to build something without any foundations. The same problems will be there for a new manager.

Farewell Frank wanted it to work and you did galvanize us last season and I also sympathise with the hand you were dealt but tactically and coaching the job was too humongous for you, no disgrace. Many better managers than you have been felled by the demands of the club. And have been failed by a board that constantly mismanage our once great club.

I must say I disagree, he reinvested all of the Richarlison money, we have much better players than a fair few teams in this league and he has been given far to long, it is going to take a mammoth effort to avoid relegation now. He got a fair crack of the whip.

I blame the DOF and board for the signings. I dont believe for one second his choices for replacing Richarlison were Mcneil and Maupay

Our squad is dire. You cant avoid a relegation battle with these horrific forward options. Without signings, no manager is saving us.

I think many managers can keep us up even if we signed nobody, just needs to be someone who knows what they are doing.

We cant blame managers, not all of them were to be blame sadly. The issues is the board. Out of they depths. The Rafael appointment was a joke.
