All the beauts squawking fro him to be binned would turn on his replacement in 3 months if he didn't have this bunch playing the Galactico era Madrid. The utter ballon ho sits behind me was raging about people mentioning Eddie Howe as a managerial candidate a while back. Against Forest he was bitching about Lampard and said “we missed out on Eddie Howe, he would have done a much better job that this fraud”.

now, Eddie Howe has done a good job at Newcastle, but then he did a bloody good job at Bournemouth with no money and a tiny crowd. My point being that these managers are up against so much insanity when the come to us, even Ancellotti was catching it from us towards the end for heavens sake. He has now bought at least half the first team, lets give him a season to see what he can domwith them. Some of the passages of play against Forest were really nice, I am confident he will get us performing, but I am equally confident that he will still have some of the mouth-frother’s trying to drive him out.
Eddie's been a fine manager for years - his job at Bournemouth was exceptional. Strangely, some Evertonians thought we were too good for him. I wonder how many of those thought we weren't too good for a man with a fraction of the Howe CV, Frank Lampard.

It could change if Chelsea or any other club put big cash on the table between £60M and £70m, but short of that Gordon looks like he's a red-line for Lampard.

He needs to be congratulated and supported for that if it has been his position.
Think if we lose tomorrow we might be chasing Chelsea for the money

Thought Howe had a whiff of the curbishly about him. Was sure it would work for another club.

I have said it before he is slowly picking his players ,to play in the system he wants and we all need to give him time.
I agree in principle. He's brought enough players in now for us to say it's his team even if every manager always wants more. He deserves time to bed them in but do we have much time? He's got to do this quickly.

Alot of the previous managers have had no plan. I really think Lampard has one. Last season we were crying out for leaders, athletic, non injury prone players who will give it there all. I think he has got players in like that. For the first time in along time he is getting a spine, a hard fighting team and plugging the gaps with hopefully one or two more to come in. Ok not much skill but players who will fight. I'm sure its not the team he wants but what that is needed for this season which previous managers have failed. I'm hoping for this season to be the 'dogs of war' of 95 reincarnated

I agree with the post though I think there's more to them than a dog's of war tag. I think we still need a creative midfield player, not sure Gordon cuts it as a number 10 imo.
Great to see a team forming, put a couple of wins on the board and hopefully we can start looking up instead of down.

4th attempt for edLampard to get a win without strikers.

Good luck to him. I had pity for benitez with his 1.5 million warchest. But no strikers in the first 4 games. We don't help the managers at Ev.

You may be right but I’ll reserve my judgment until he’s steered the richest club in the world to a meaningful success.

Which is prob why he wants to keep hold of Gordon for the skill and pace

Agreed. I voted for Howe in the poll for next manager for us before he became Newcastle boss. Did a great job at Bournemouth, crap budget, got them promoted, kept them in the league playing good football. Defied the odds keeping them up as long as he did. Crazy how many on here dismissed him because of that final season with Bournemouth.
