10years since we beat the RS at Goodison.
Great thing to.put on ya CV Frank.
We done ok at Leeds over the yrars so a good chance there.

Now , 1995/96season to beat Arsenal i think.
I am just quoting stats pages.

Wow,Frank get us 9points ,go into West Ham game buzzing.

coyb.
Have i been taking something ????

Frank cements himself into.our folklaw if he gets 12points, players to.
Anyone wanna translate this?

They have both had less than desirable performances.

Gerrard's PL game record with Villa is 31 games and 38 points = 1.22 points per game.

Lampard's PL game record with Everton is 22 games and 22 points = 1 point per game.

But we keep going back to the same point.

Lampard came in to a side on a run of 1 win in 14, devoid of any confidence, with 0 transfer windows to rectify it last season.

Gerrard came into a team that had spent 100m, and hes probably spent another 100m. The team were mid table the season before. The expectations are wholly different given the resources they have had, and the situation they have inherited.

With the money hes spent, Gerrard should have Villa in and around the top 6.

Which is why their fans are starting to turn on him.

I take my criticisms back. I'm willing to give him more time. He's a much better manager than Slippy at least.

I think they both have sizeable question marks over them tbh, both in similar awkward positions at similar size clubs. Lampard hasn’t been able to spend as much money at Everton but he did at Chelsea and it didn’t go great either.

Only difference between them is that Lampard is quite likeable.

If we're in the bottom 3 at Xmas but within easy reach of safety, then there should be no sacking IMO
Exactly this. Our side is absolute dross. Frank has us moving in the right direction.

As long as the team is playing hard for him Frank has to stay to build something

The difference when we sacked Martinez, Koeman, Marco, and Benitez is that the team wasn't playing hard for them, it was clear a change was needed. And bar Benitez there was more talent at their disposal than Frank has.

Sacking Frank, simply put, has to be a last resort

Big picture we have 2 points from 4, but only a -2 GD with no striker. The team is playing hard and we are much better defensively than in recent seasons. We are creating chances just with no end product.

Keep the faith

What faith?

I don't mind people saying we need to give Lampard time, but for some of us there is no "faith". He was appointed on name recognition. There is no history of tangible managerial success to keep "faith" in.
He managed to keep us up by 4 points from this position:

Not a trophy or League title but I’d call that a success the way we had been playing.

The faith would be, he did the job he was asked to do, under very difficult circumstances last season.
I'll be needing a bit more than that, I'm afraid. He deserves his chance to build on keeping us up - so he has exhausted that capital as far as I'm concerned. When the window closes, he'll have basically recruited half a new team. So, let's see what he has about him as a manager.
