adding a good goalscorer is one of the most difficult challenges for any non Big Club.

How many - better than 1-in-3 average ratio - have we had in the last 30 years? Just two: Cottee and Rom.

That's it.

It's actually very rare for us to have a good regular goalscorer. The team we have now need to be scoring goals between them, we can't rely on a mythic striker we haven't even signed yet.
Looking at their previous, particularly the midfielders and forwards, there’s no previous to expect enough goals in the team. Unless we add some players (not just a striker) who have a few goals in them to add to the team.

Some tough games coming up now, BUT there are positives. The offside goal which looked on, Onana/ Patterson chances we could/ should of won that game. A team without DCL, Doucoure, Mina, Godfrey, Holgate, Maupay plus now Gueye to come in + hopefully another attacker. We’ll be OK… ??

We need to average a point a game to survive, so I’m not going to judge Frank until game 10 in the league (Man Utd).

If we can beat West Ham and Southampton, then we only need a point from RS/Arsenal/Man Utd to remain on track. More than possible.

it's not necessarily players we need to add, it's a tactical/mental-philosophy we need to develop.

title-winning Leicester proved this, and to a lesser extent West Ham last season.

Pro footballers are capable of scoring goals, if managed right. We are very far from being managed right.

I know many of yous have faith Frank and his coaches' efforts are improving, but i'm just not seeing it yet.

Clearly, the subs bench was weak -
  • Keane - a centre back, Cody & Tarakowski were effective
  • Allan - doubtful if he's 100% fit
  • Begovic - any sub keeper comes on only if the regular keeper is injured
  • André Gomes - Yeah, right
  • Coleman - for who?
  • Vinagre - possible, but no real reason to bring him on
  • Rondón - see Gomes
  • Mills - a youngster, would have been hard on him to influence the game
  • Welch - see above
