I’d be pretty sure the only way he gets the boot is if we somehow are bad enough to be adrift of too many other teams by the time the WC rolls around. If we keep showing up in the games like that and are in around within a couple points of a good bunch of other teams they will let him on with it even if the points total is bad

I see plenty bright spots in the performances and the players levels of effort is much better. Let’s see what the next couple days brings him in regards to options

I think it’s crucial for the players and club that he sees these tough times out and at least makes it to the end of next season, whether it would then be him leaving us or us deciding to make a change from a more normal/stable position. Whatever, just make us a normal average club again that doesn’t need to sack a manager in a panic, and let’s build from there

We couldn't grind these results out last season. We get Goodison rocking and we give the likes of Leeds and Brentoford a good hiding when we face them at home. This performance was alot more polished than the one against Forest that we should have won. I can see some progress in terms player attitude and organisation. The football will come. Give it a bit of time lads and ladies.

Clearly, the subs bench was weak -
  • Keane - a centre back, Cody & Tarakowski were effective
  • Allan - doubtful if he's 100% fit
  • Begovic - any sub keeper comes on only if the regular keeper is injured
  • André Gomes - Yeah, right
  • Coleman - for who?
  • Vinagre - possible, but no real reason to bring him on
  • Rondón - see Gomes
  • Mills - a youngster, would have been hard on him to influence the game
  • Welch - see above
Jeez, when you look at that, I’d have judged him more if he’d brought any of them on!!

Some tough games coming up now, BUT there are positives. The offside goal which looked on, Onana/ Patterson chances we could/ should of won that game. A team without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Doucoure, Mina, Godfrey, Holgate, Maupay plus now Gueye to come in + hopefully another attacker. We’ll be OK… ??
That'd be lovely but the chances of all them being fit at the same time is very slim.
