I have to say it was very surprising to see the same players come out for the second half after an abysmal first half. The changes came much too late I think. Not saying it would have changed the result but I’m not sure why we waited so long when it clearly wasn’t even close to working.

We lost this game due to 2 individual errors, giving the ball away in key areas and were made to pay by an attacking unit which is far superior to ours.

He’s shored the back 4 up and the midfield is decent. Our attacking options are poor though, but we have enough to finish mid table.
They could have had a lot of goals there. It wasn't just two mistakes.

We got put in our box by a poor United team...because we're a poor Everton team. There's no use hiding behind two individual errors. We are worse than bang average and we all know it.

Bit harsh there David, unbeaten in 7 before could have snatched a point

I had us down for relegation, but nowhere near that now.

The signings of Coady, Tarkowski, Onana and Gana have made us much stronger and we will improve with a fit DCL adding more strength down the middle.

We will be much better when Patterson gives us more attacking prowess down the right.

I’d seriously have to consider switching Iwobi out wide possibly too and let Garner / Doucoure fill the other midfield slot.

A painful evening, and seriously a painful watch. I don't think any player can really hold there head up after that performance, but hopefully that just means at least they've all got it out there system now. It was always going to happen sooner or later and anyone that thinks differently has obviously blanked out what we've just been through.
the best thing that can come from this is that they can accept this as a blip, sleep it off and get straight back going for the spurs game with the only mindset being that 3pts are coming back home next week. cause that on its own will show a massively marked improvement on last season when we would of just mentally crumbled.

one positive tonight tho was actually feeling comfortable when the sub board was being held up ( obviously not for tonights game ) but in general.
Dcl - Garner - Mcneil not a bad group of players to be able to bring on.

We did that by being an honest team: knowing that we're limited quality wise and working hard.

Deviate from that script and, as said, they get put in their box.

This is the fear I have with Lampard: that he believes he can turn this lot into a technical team. They dont have it in them, and I blame him tonight for instructing them that they can play and go toe to toe like that.

I can't remember Pickford making any saves of note throughout the game tonight.
I mean to be fair they scored 2, had 2 disallowed, and missed a couple of very presentable chances so I get where he’s coming from. It’s not the end of the world though, they’re a pretty good side and we still could have salvaged something at the end. I think it was a bit of a reality check about the midfield and defence though. People have gone a bit over the top about both areas and I think today showed there’s still a fair way to go.

Some players just had a bad day that's it and having a bad day we nearly snatched a point. He's doing a job here and most of us are behind him maybe not you David

It's simple for me: knock the football on the head and work like Trojans. It's a simple formula for us to carry on and pick up the 40 points we require.

I dont want to hear Lampard hinting at expansive football, still less trying to conduct it with these bang average players. They were points lost today when it was realistically the last chance we'll have to get points until Palace at home.

I also think people are dismissing United as some pub team also.

Not claiming they are a good side, but they sit 5th, the only team to take points off Arsenal also.

I think thats where a lot of anger stems from.
