Most shots faced and higher average per game than any other team.

Man United and Spurs are two teams that are better than us, and those two better team beat us. The next few weeks will tell us more about what direction we're actually heading in.
That's fine - I don't disagree with you - but if we are to accept losing to teams better than us, we need to be demanding wins against teams worse than us - such as Nottingham Forest. There aren't many worse than us, though, which is where your argument is probably not sustainable. Newcastle is a huge game now. Another defeat and the alarm bells will be ringing loudly.

I think we have enough about us to finish mid table, so at the moment i'm not overly concerned.

I think we will lose to Newcastle because we have 0 threat, but it’s the manner of the defeat that will tell us more than anything. If we capitulate and get battered then I’ll start to really worry. Once we’ve got this game out the way then we have a massive run of fixtures after that, we need to be looking to be on 18-20 points going into the World Cup break.

Something to keep in mind is that our home fixtures in the second half of the season look a lot kinder on paper. So far apart from Forest we’ve only played home games against last season’s top 7.

I disagree with you there. I think we have enough to finish about 15th. Without a reliable forward to score goals, even the poorest opposition provides a challenge. Our problem is if we lose three or four in a row, we could go into freefall. We don't have enough goals to ensure we can dig out a win when we need one. The next month will be pivotal to the season. The run of matches from now to the World Cup provides plenty of opportunities for points. The team has to step up now or this could get out of hand quite quickly.

Stick with this fella, maybe I’m the eternal Everton optimist but I just have a gut feeling he will turn us around, let’s face it we are very, very average talent wise, but he is moulding a team together which I feel in the interim will grind out results,I don’t see us (maybe City apart)capitulating in games to the levels of previous seasons, this season we have actually been in with a chance of taking something out of every game so far,yes baby steps maybe but remember where we are coming from last season.

Not sure what to make of that / context…. Also highest interceptions per game, does this indicate our defensive unit has resulted in more pot shot from distance that were subsequently intercepted or that our defence is bad and we’ve been lucky to only concede a few ??‍♂️
Pickford's made some good saves but mainly we've blocked a lot. I don't feel like we've been as open defensively this season.

I don't think we'll go into freefall at all. We'll win a few and lose a few, but we'll be fine i think. We are coming from a low base after last season.

….for me, that’s about transition from defence to attack. Every time we cleared the ball today it came back. Biggest stat is we don’t concede many goals, if we can transition to be a threat in the top third it’ll make a huge difference.

I guess the question is why are we on the receiving end of so many shots and what’s the quality of them….. that’s veering too close to the Xg(a) and I really cba with that! ?
