Hopefully Moshiri has learned his lessons after the Benitez fiasco. Perhaps he's learned to stop the meddling and interfering, and let the manager and director of football, do the jobs that they were hired to do.How can you completely draw a line under the past 6 years when you still have the same people in control of your club?
That's fine - I don't disagree with you - but if we are to accept losing to teams better than us, we need to be demanding wins against teams worse than us - such as Nottingham Forest. There aren't many worse than us, though, which is where your argument is probably not sustainable. Newcastle is a huge game now. Another defeat and the alarm bells will be ringing loudly.Man United and Spurs are two teams that are better than us, and those two better team beat us. The next few weeks will tell us more about what direction we're actually heading in.
I think we have enough about us to finish mid table, so at the moment i'm not overly concerned. That's fine - I don't disagree with you - but if we are to accept losing to teams better than us, we need to be demanding wins against teams worse than us - such as Nottingham Forest. I disagree with you there. I think we have enough to finish about 15th. Without a reliable forward to score goals, even the poorest opposition provides a challenge. Our problem is if we lose three or four in a row, we could go into freefall. We don't have enough goals to ensure we can dig out a win when we need one. The next month will be pivotal to the season. The run of matches from now to the World Cup provides plenty of opportunities for points. The team has to step up now or this could get out of hand quite quickly.I think we have enough about us to finish mid table, so at the moment i'm not overly concerned.
Not sure what to make of that / context…. Also highest interceptions per game, does this indicate our defensive unit has resulted in more pot shot from distance that were subsequently intercepted or that our defence is bad and we’ve been lucky to only concede a few ??
Pickford's made some good saves but mainly we've blocked a lot. I don't feel like we've been as open defensively this season. Not sure what to make of that / context…. I don't think we'll go into freefall at all. We'll win a few and lose a few, but we'll be fine i think. We are coming from a low base after last season.I disagree with you there. I guess the question is why are we on the receiving end of so many shots and what’s the quality of them….. that’s veering too close to the Xg(a) and I really cba with that! ?Pickford's made some good saves but mainly we've blocked a lot. I don't feel like we've been as open defensively this season.
