Not sure the football that's been played this season is what all the fans fans wanting Lampard were counting on. It's very Big Sam.

Last season it was needs must and whatever it takes. He's been able to bring in his own players in the summer but the football has got worse.

Norway. lol

Ffs it's footy not cross country skiing
Norway has been voted the world's best sports nation per capita a number of times. Right now we have perhaps the world's best striker, an Arsenal midfielder who isn't too bad, one of the world's best tennis players, third-ranked golfer, Olympic champions in athletics, and the list just goes on. In addition, we have had legendary coaches such as Nils Arne Eggen, whose performance is difficult to surpass in relative terms, and former national team manager Egil Roger Olsen. And not least Tom Lund.

There are a million medals in nordic skiing at the winter Olympics tho. Skews the numbers massively.

Correct. If that’s the attitude, what’s the actual point of Everton? Just making up the numbers? A mindset where you’ve decided you can’t compete with a third of the division is unacceptable.
For the sake of playing devils advocate, is there an arguement that us and the other members of the "non Big Six" are anything other than here to make up the numbers??......

We all know which clubs generate the most TV revenue, we all know which clubs the media love and Sky/BT/Amazon fight over to broadcast, we all know which clubs get the rub of the VAR green.

In the bigger scheme of things, does anyone -other than the fans- give the slightest fuch who finishes 8th or 12th or 16th between us and Palace and Saints and Wolves and Brighton and Brentford and Leeds etc etc etc.

Newcastle look like they're breaking in and Moshiri blew more when he first came in. That was the chance lost to break in.

Moyes at West Ham has done similar with West Ham to what he did at Everton at getting them qualifying for Europe and making a go of it. Leicester were close to the CL twice under Rodgers before the usual rot under him set in.

It's going to take BMD to attract the levels of investment Newcastle are now getting.

Not gonna lie mate, when I think of Norway, (which isnt often) sporting prowess isnt the reason.

I get whay you're saying, but those are small "one-off-ish" instances. Leics had a few good years, now fallen away (probably lose a few players this summer). WHam a few good years (Rice rejects mega contract, will prob move on). Newcastle steady progression tbf, but don't see them cracking top 4 in next few years. We absolutely had our chance to crack the top 4, wasted it, now it looks harder than ever.

There will always be slight exceptions that the Prem will try to sell as proof of "best league in the world", but ultimately, after 38 games, we all know roughly who will be where; and for a number of clubs, 7/8/9 places doesn't really matter, not when you're banking £120m a year tv money.

As for BMD, I just don't get why some people think that's the golden ticket to a bright future. Unless I've missed something, I don't see Spotify falling over themselves to buy naming rights, or major corporations queuing up to be sponsors, or NFL teams/music concerts throwing money at us etc etc. 10k more seats is great and all, but major investment is not coming in if the team is garbage on the pitch. A shiny new stadium and few extra shops doesn't change that.

Seamus Coleman is Irish though! ☘️

Bad luck.

People don't like it but its true. Rafael performed better as manager and was without 5 or 6 first team starters for the majority of his time here. However much you may not like it, its statistically true.
Obv we would never want the FSW back but there must be balance in the argument...

Frank needs some results, I would like nothing more than see Frank bring success to the club, by success I mean a season clear of any relegation worries and something to build on again but we seem to have just carried on from last season despite 7 new players and "upgrades" in all the problem areas....

Dunno how he turns it around but I fear Moshiri will pull the trigger if there isn`t any sign of progress.

It's going to be nearly impossible for anyone to break the top 6. I can see the "Big 6" colluding together and doing everything they can to stop us.

Personally I dont get why the debate always ends up "Benitez or Lampard" like they're the only two managers in world football.

Sir Farhad/Kenwrong messed up by not replacing Benitez with a firefighter until the seasons end then letting Big Kev Thelwell bring in HIS choice of manager.

Lampard didn't have to come back. I said it in May. I'm not sure the fans would have loved it generally but the case to move him on was there.
