For me if the manager let off the shackles I think we'll have fared better on the road this season imo.
It's a fine line between, easing the handbrake off...which is all...IMO obvs...Martinez had to do with his Moyes based + Lukaku squad and going totally Keegan-tastic / you score 4 and we'll score 5.
We need Onana to improve to full blown Beast mode and we need a Gana type who can pass a ball forward.
Garner??
Somebody anyway

I'm content with the draw but for me the issue is more he seems happy to set up for a point every away game.

Thats fine if you are winning your home games but so far we've only won 2 home games this season. If you're utilising Alladyce Ball away from home you simply then have to win the bulk of your home games.
He is setting us up to be hard to beat away. Instead of losing every game like last season, he is turning them into draws. Then he can start the work of turning the draws into wins.

But last season we didn't have Coady, Tarks, Patterson, Gana or Onana in the side (and Mykolenko was still new to the league).

People cant keep referencing last season when the bulk of the weak links in the side (Keane, Godfrey, Holgate, Gomes, Davies, Coleman) are not first choice players anymore.

If we had been able to add players like Coady and Tarks, rather then see what we can get with 1.8m, last season doesn't happen.

Yeah it's playing to.our strengths, might not be easy on the eye but only the results count anyway.
It's a process. Yeah it's frustrating to watch at times, but we currently have the 9th best away form this season so far. It's mid table form. I'll take that after last season when our away form was 19th.

Last season we won 2 and drew 4 away. This season we have already won 1 and drawn 3. We got 10 points away last season. We are on course to get 22.

Yeah it's why I'm still positive, this season won't be pretty but there won't be sleepless nights, I'll take that

Doesn't that say anything to you? We have a squad with a pretty much brand new back 4 and 2 new midfielders. It takes time to settle and build into more. We are on course to more than double our away points from last season.

Of course it takes time but at the same time you can clearly see the CB's have a good partnership and the midfield are doing an alright job therefore the manager has the option to mix it up against teams of lesser or similar quality which we're not currently seeing minus the Palace game.

Well yes, but those players brought in make us solid, but perhaps not threatening.

But we have to reference previous seasons. A significant weakness was capitulation and leaking goals. We weren't exactly prolific either. However, build from the back is the saying, no?
