Its Putins fault we cant win football matches?

If Longstaff pulls an Anthony Gordon this season he's oot the door and replaced with a £40 million superstar.

We cant do that without Uncle Uzzys sponsorships inflating the books to avert FFP.

Newcastles owners are doing a big naming rights + shirt sponsership deal next season on top of the £10 million they get just off the sleeve sponser with Saudi.

That could have been us but the Ukraine War has put an end to that at current time.

One clubs going somewhere the other isn't and the players will know that expecially those at Newcastle wanting a juicy big new contract.

I don’t think many managers would be playing a different style of football to what we’re seeing now… look at the goal scoring records of our forwards - it’s no surprise we’re not scoring goals therefore we have to play conservatively.

The biggest mistake Lampard made in my opinion, which he probably had control over, was not taking the money for Gordon and signing a proven goal scorer

I might be wrong, but I don't think we're playing conservatively. We're just clueless going forward. Conceding the most shots in the league does not suggest conservative to me.

You do know that we pay more wages than Newcastle, right?

We had Hamez here on 200k a week, Gomes is earning 120k a week in France for somebody else, Mina earns 120k a week for dancing.

The lack of money excuse is boring.

Ive seen every player we have have good games, they arent bad players.

We have some bad players. Every top flight player can have their day but consistency is what matters. Bad players are inconsistent players.

I agree we have a decent squad - not top 7 quality but enough to not be 16th.

My point was more about Newcastle and how the media are hyping Howe up as a manager and their squad as being top quality when the reality is a handful of good players aside they have a bunch of cloggers putting 110% in every week as they know with the money backing the club they're one bad season away from being moved on by a ruthless regime - not Kenwright telling them they're part of the Everton Family.

Although I completely agree it’s hard to fix all the problems we had/have in a single window.

I think the biggest failing is the signing of McNeill and Maupay, neither really good enough if we’re honest, I understand it’s a squad game but truly we should have strengthened the first 11 first.

There is absolutely no way Gray, Gordon should be first team players. They should be used as impact subs and occasional starters to rest or cover suspensions.

Instead of Maupay and McNeill, we should have used that money and signed a wide player who creates and scores, and then looked at a free like Januzaj to cover the other side, of course we’d have moaned and it would have been uninspiring, but at least it would have been 15m less than we’ve spent on McNeill, probably with equal output.

Desperately need wide players who can offer something, and a CF who is like for like Dominic Calvert-Lewin. There’s no point playing long with Maupay who’s all of 5ft7.
It's imperative now we right the wrongs of the summer window upfront.

I think the signing of Kudus could have been a real boost. We need someone like that and a poacher who is also good in the air.

I would love it if there was no reason to question whether or not Frank Lampard will be our manager when the league starts up again on Boxing Day. Solidly mid-table with points and performances that suggest little possibility of relegation and signs of real improvement ahead. Is that asking too much for Everton?
