Not sure about that last part because he'd demonstrated that he's not reliable to stay fit, plus what manager in history has even gone into a season with one striker in their entire squad? Rondon doesn't count as a professional footballer by the way.

Was it extreme naivety by Lampard and Thelwell or just abysmal judgement? Got it so badly wrong.

If they've spent our budget for the season then they've relegated us as there is no improving what we have to offer as an attacking unit in terms of the current squad.

On the last part: doubt it.

On the first part(s): DCL played 30+ games in the last few seasons before last, where he played 17. Giving him a normal recovery time and expecting him to play in, essentially, less than 10 full games (resting etc included) before the world cup wasn't that out of this world. We even got a 2nd string/replacement for subs, as sadly Rondon exists still.

I'd say part naivety part belief in what we have and then we can improve around January, but it might've cost us a bit already, in truth. Doubt we'll get relegated, really. Reckon we'll get a few good wins more and we'll be normally/comfortably mid-table (or thereabouts/competing for it) by March (GOD I HOPE I'M RIGHT)

I've never been a footballer or a football manager

But I do not delegate work to people who I do not believe will do a good job.

You dont need to be a football manager to understand basic human psychology.

Without making this a long post, there will be people who want to improve themselves and show desire to perform...you have to give them chances.

Otherwise this can lead to disharmony which spreads.

Well Gillingham had 1 shot in 120mins against Brentford and got the rub of the green to sneak through.

We were outplayed and battered by probably the worst XI we’ll face this season.

I honestly find it comical that people are still on all fours for Lampard, I really am. I get that people want to back him to succeed but ffs call a spade a spade.

He could get sacked any day now, before or after the game at the weekend, and it should 100% come as no surprise to anybody. The club also has a lot to answer for, by the way, but this is his squad now, he and Thelwell had a full summer and failed miserably to provide us an attacking unit that can avoid relegation. They somehow deemed it necessary to bring in utter dirt like Maupay and McNeil, and invest 30m in a young Belgian lad when we have no strikers or decent wingers. Continue like this and we will go down. Only reason for not firing him if we don't win on Saturday will be if the club have promised to strongly back him in the market in January.

And so on we go, rebuilding after a manager is here for a short stint, again. Before we call for sacking the next guy in 10 games time.

But honestly, most of them just aren't good enough for that level and are going through the motions.

Couldn’t care less about that. Goals conceded column is all that matters.

Not when we are defending really deep as a team and creating nothing. We are conceding 17 shots per game and only having 10 shots per game. We are only two points from the drop zone because it is points that matter not goals conceded.
