2022/23 Frank Lampard

No he has not whatsoever. Don’t dare quote me a win percentage, he’s had he best squad in world football playing against Gibraltar and Andorra every year.
You have to wonder if Bobby is some Spanish prankster pretending to be a real life football manager and it all just got out of hand, to the point twenty years down the line he's somehow found himself in the Belgium gig.

It has to be said about this shambles of a performance, Lampard should accept a great deal of it was down to him. Not just with the team selection but the tactics. 3 CB's at the back has been tried in earlier games and shown to be rubbish but not only that to select those three, he must be mental.
And 5 across the middle plus the two incompetents up front, Gordon and Maupay.

BTW Doucore only managed 28 touches in all the time he was on.

So yes a great deal of this awful performance must lie at Lampard's door.

I don't want to change manager, but to be fair this certainly isn't 'the first sign of bad results'. We've lost half of the games we've played since he took over. I've said before, I don't think it's helpful to make out like it's crazy to be concerned or thinking Lampard isn't the right man for the job because it's totally understandable when you look at performances, results, and stats. I don't want him sacked but it's more because I just can't be bothered going through the whole thing again than anything else.
We all want better but this isn’t happening over night he is far from perfect but we need to stick with him providing we are in no real danger. Like I said yesterday, win Saturday and we could be 11-12th come the break! Isn’t that better than most of us expected? That’s with playing the first 5 games without a striker. We will be fine this season imo and only this time next season should be the time to judge Lampard properly.

Why are we talking about a new manager again when this one has barely got his feet under the table. He took over when the club was and still is a mess, no manager in world football will come here and have us playing winning attractive football in a matter of months with the absolute cowards they would have to rely on week in and week out.

Another managerial change will push us closer to relegation until it eventually happens. The first sign of discontent or bad results and everyone wants change thinking it will solve our problems! It won’t it will add to them.

It’s what this place does. It’s an obsession. Carlo Ancelotti probably one of, if not the, greatest manager of all time had us 2nd at Boxing Day and fighting for top 4 going into the run in, whilst ending the Anfield hoodoo.

Not that you’d have known it on here at the time. The geniuses on GOT surmised that he didn’t know how to put on a training session, that he was tactically a dinosaur, he didn’t know anything about player fitness or conditioning, he couldn’t coach or improve players who weren’t top players. They boiled his whole career down to just having collections of world class stars and telling them ‘go and play lads’. Apparently he was good ages ago but showed at Bayern and Napoli that he was utterly spent.

He then goes and wins the league and his fourth CL trophy with Real Madrid straight after.

The same people who somehow still defend Michael Keane and Tom Davies have called for the head of multiple Everton managers. No pressure on the ownership, no questions around the support departments at Everton, no acceptance of mitigating circumstances (transfer expenditure, injuries etc.)

No it’s just ‘play 433 and win every game or gtfo the club you useless dinosaur’ - rinse and repeat for every manager of the Moshiri era.

This forum is obsessed with managerial changes, obsessed with it, even if Lampard wins some games and pulls us into mid table they’ll never rest, one bad result and they’re straight back to looking for the next shiny ball.

Bielsa, Hasenhuttl, Nuno, Wagner, Wilder, Lage all flavours of the month we absolutely should have gone for according to the wisdom of GOT. Now it’s Howe and Potter (although he lost a game recently so maybe not him now)

I’m just waiting for Marco Silva to win a few so we can go full circle with people wanting him back.

Just stop whining you utter crybabies and give Frank a chance to turn it around.

If we get a good result against Bournemouth at the weekend then everything will seem much brighter for Frank.... and all of us.

We have seen with other clubs who made wholesale changes that performances dipped .

We probably needed to make no more than five or six changes and I think the changes could have been more targeted. We basically played every senior player who was fit and hadn't been playing regularly.

I also do believe that Cannon and Mills need to be seriously looked as we saw last season that Anthony Gordon did have an impact when introduced.

We are now 16th just on the edge of the bottom 3.

Yeah there's no joined up approach at all and I'm sure Kevin and Frank don't discuss any of it with signings just rocking up at training as a surprise for Frank.
I reckon there's 3 big boxes on the training pitch and whichever one our gang of stormtroopers manages to kick the ball within ten feet of first, a player bursts out the box yelling "TAA-DAA!" and that's Frank's new signing ?

The one touch should have been an assist though...

The trouble is Frank was doing ok, nothing earth shattering, but nothing monumentally poo then he pulls the second string routine which undoes even the top clubs. It's madness on so many levels but fundamentally it's disrespectful to the fans. Imagine travelling all that way to the south coast to roar on the blues and that teamsheet pops out!!!!

Post of the day!

Yeah as I said, for me he needs to stay, but I do understand why people see it differently. It isn't the first bad run we've had, I'd be much more surprised and concerned if there was nobody questioning the manager after he'd only won 9 of his first 32 games in charge. People turn this type of thing into something that it's not. It's not entitlement or being fickle or having no patience, it's people being concerned about what they see, it's totally normal.

Opening line was spot on, all the player threads after the match were a waste of time, it was his team his tactics and his post match comments were a disgrace

Glad to read a fair bit of sense in this thread. It would be madness to keep chopping and changing. If you watch the training videos he’s clearly drilling them in the right areas, he can’t physically do it for them on the pitch. The attackers need to step up and the midfield need to stop being so dire at passing. Garner in for either Gana or Onana should help with that.
