That is true. That front line could be the end of him, but could also be his job saving excuse.

On the other hand, everyone that has ever seen Onana play in his life seems certain he is destined for greatness. Like Champions League winning greatness. He also seems to have the desire, attitude and self confidence to maximise his career. Ignoring the rapport building with the fans, he has been at best poor, at worst utterly terrible in almost every minute played. Nothing going forward and unaware of players around him when defending. Zero impact on the game. None of his obvious physical attributes used at all.

Onana has done nothing more for the team than Doucoure would have, and I hate Doucoure. But he is still going to the World Cup because his National set up know what he is capable of.

Whether it’s position, instructions, training, diet, whatever, the coaching staff have made the crown jewel of our summer signings into a total nothing player in 3 months. If we bring in Ben Brereton Diaz, Ronaldo and Memphis Depay in Jan and just drop them into our current lineup, we still won’t score.
Fair points mate, I disagree with the last point and think Onana has been good overall (but clearly capable of better) but I can’t say for sure you’re wrong, just think you are

FL post match interview doesn't suggest he's NEA, does it. Squarely put in on the players, and himself... but mostly the player's.
Turd n polish I'm afraid.
Don't care which manager could come in, they'll still be polishing what we have.

He must be now thinking himself he can't do anything with this lot. Would've hoped he'd played cannon and mills from the start, just to make a point to the rest of the team. Pretty much had nothing to lose did we

I wouldn't say it was a 'fluke' I think it was more the case of inheriting a well-drilled, well-organized Moyes side where everyone knew their job, added to a few attacking additions, plus Martinez's style. A short-term 'perfect storm' of sorts.

What's more telling for me is how it went once it became fully "his team": spiralling into the ground, so utterly devoid of confidence we were beaten before the kick offs towards the end of his time. A truly broken team. Even before that we could be 2 goals up with ten to go and you never once felt confident of a win.

As for the Belgium thing, they were/are one of the best teams in the world. Big Sam could probably do the same with that squad, albeit very differently.
Again, I disagree with the Moyes descriptor Martinez introduced Stones, Barkley and Oviedo players essentially overlooked or not trusted by Moyes adding Del, Rom, McCarthy and Barry to give an almost new first team. The results and progress were stunning until injuries inevitably played their part and squad weakness was exposed. He needed top dollar to bolster the squad to provide cover for these players let alone continue replacing the ageing Moyes contingent. But we all know the score on that.

As I said earlier if the likes of McCready are in the mix you know you're not at the races transfer wise. But it's all opinion I think he's a good manager but he might be utter dog do do none of us actually know what happens at the club. But he would be mad to return here.

Fair to say he's very fortunate that there's a break now otherwise I think he'd be punted with another defeat if there was another match in the horizon.

But we've got to see something more than what we are seeing. It's not good enough and as manager he has to take responsibility.

agree, lampard is no saint and has to address it, but also other things haven’t helped.

get the jan window open

It was horrible to see the incident after the game. Some of those players looked a bit bemused, to be expected really, you have some fans who find it unacceptable the nonsense that goes on whilst the players being in a bubble of a culture at the club itself of expected losses and no pressure to succeed.

9 wins since he's been here is enough for me,hope he goes.
3 wins in 15 this season.
All the stats tell you we are rubbish
Your own eyes tell you it every week
The only thing stopping anyone getting shut us is the you can't carry on sacking managers mantra.
It's like being a three times divorced and your current one is blowing off the milkman, postman and anybody else that fancies a go.
But isn't bad to talk to, so you may as well stick with it.

A DoF who thinks the likes of Maupay and McNeil were good pieces of business. Even bringing Gana back at his age is highly questionable. However we got New York Kev ahead of Barca is a mystery for the ages...

Maupay cost £15 millions and scored 8 gols last season (under a manager who actually has some kind of tactical nous).

McNeil was never first choice we simply had to bring him in due to Burnleys willingness to structure the deal to suit us FFP speaking.

He had a very tough job this summer needing to bring in 8 signings on the drip with the fanbase in universal agreement that even 8 new signings wasn't enough.

Too many hating on him when he'll need a good few windows without restrictions before we can fully judge.
