Friedkin's To Do list.

i) Look at the last two years and realise that this is the most competently we have been run for at least the past twenty years, and probably since we were one of the drivers of the creation of the PL. Quality of recruitment, financial prudence and communication between club and customers have had to be better because of the distress the club is in, and have been and the people who have delivered that should be allowed to continue. I mean this for Thelwell especially, but also for Dyche.

ii) recognise the mistakes of the last regime especially, but also the last few regimes - failure came after trying to buy success. Only hard work, common sense, fiscal discipline and a willingness to look outside of the broken model of football will deliver it. The words "the manager will be given a war chest" should result in a beating.

iii) ban all free rides - I don't care how many club appearances someone has, or how much of a legend they were; the only way someone gets employed here in any kind of responsible position is because of their competence for the post

iv) be honest with the fanbase, and stay away from Talksport

What would be the top 3 things you'd like to see TFG action once officially through the door.

1. Fully functional board with strong leadership

2. Address squad quality with a view to January signings

3.Revolutionise the Sponsorship and communication departments...[removed on request]
Is the manager/DOF part of strong leadership? That needs sorting before a single unit of any currency should be spent on players. Have a plan for once I’m begging us.

I know this is kind of a meme with Everton but I’m going to say it anyway: the fan base needs to be honest with itself. The club is probably 5 years from a real run at Europe. We have to understand that and live with it for awhile. It’ll only help. Finishing 12th is a good thing and progress doesn’t have to be linear nor will it always be shown, both good and bad, in the results.

Obviously there are more pressing matters to tend to initially but eventually they should cancel the contract with castore, partner with a manufacturer that produces a kit that doesn't self destruct and unravel within a day

I get where you are coming from, and I'm a real realism first type guy, but I'm not sure we are so far away with the right owners. Aston Villa, and Newcastle, from worse positions than us turned around quickly.

In no particular order.

1) Strengthen the board (probably replace them board). Some Roma personnel great, but also look to acquire the best we can. Specifically so on commercial revenue generation. Ideally a specialist in how to acquire more RE and maximise profits.

2) Leave those people to deliver on a plan.

3) Be far more ambitious on marketing, particularly (initially on the city). We need a lot more buzz around the stadium, and advertising around it.

4) Have a clear recruitment plan, work this through with the DOF.

5) Commit to investing more in the academy.

6) Communicate the plan honestly to fans. Thelwell has been good at this.

7) Avoid too much change initially. We ripped things up early under Moshiri and didn't recover. For now Dyche and Thelwell are ok, but be considering who the upgrades would be if required.

8) As has been said, cut out the jobs for the boys brigade, the hanger ons etc. Where former or existing players have add value, they are welcomed, but not just for the sake of it.

No interfering and sticking your nose in where it shouldn't be. Just sign the cheques and let the director of football and the manager do their jobs without undermining them just to inflate your ego and sense of self importance.

We face a long road back to recovery but that's fine as long as the club is not making anymore disastrous financial loses.

It might not take that long to be competitive, but those sides started the turn around when we were still doing the big 6 nonsense. There are 9 sides objectively better and more put together than us (I’m counting United because end of the day it’s still Manchester United). Actually beating 3 of them is no small order and may take some persistence.

Oh I agree mate. It's not easy, but turnaround and momentum can happen quickly.

If it goes to plan, we will have a stadium, with huge momentum, and additional income from that of maybe 50m. If you throw in additional sponsorships maybe 100m a year extra.

That is transformative for us, whichever way you look at it. The question, is going to be cancelled they get people in place to maximise that?

But look, we got 48 points last season with a woeful squad. So to eek out 10 points more is not that far off.

More broadly, I think you're seeing some of those "top 6" teams fraying, but thats probably a slightly different argument.
