The massive amount of spin Ruiz put on the ball was the reason why it ended up going onto the post and not dropping down in front of Howard allowing him to pick it up or a defender to clear it. He did well to get a touch on it when you consider the ball started off in the middle of the goal as it went over the wall and ended up right near the far post.
