you wailed against the celebration of freedom day. So you by implication are in favour of keeping all of the current resttrictions including social distancing and masks. Now you may be happy in this little half way world, but most normal people are desperate to get out of it asap.

Well yes, because it’s a virus and that’s what viruses do. There’ll be “new variants” from now until the end of time, the only difference between covid variants and variants of every other virus, is that the others don’t get named and have news items dedicated to them on BBC and Sky.

This is a good comment. There is also the possibility that future dominant variants will be less damaging, it has happened before with previous pandemics, on the other hand variants could of course be more damaging. Just have to see what happens I guess

I'm drawing reasonable conclusions from your post that the virus is running riot and yet all we hear is 'freedom day.

allow for a little poetic license. We are free from the last 16 months of restrictions. Which have impacted some people, the young mainly, much more than others.

My nephew with 5 mates watched 2 of England's games at Wembley and the rest in the pub.All six of them have now tested positive for covid.

I feel for my family who serve on the frontline for the NHS, In Liverpool Aintree and my wifes family in James Cook Middlesbrough.

So i don't see Monday as Freedom day for them.

Please tell me they are wrong.

ask them what the waiting lists are for non covid operations. Which has a mortality age of 83. And for which everyone over 40 has had the opportunity to be double jabbed.
