An average of 20 deaths per day now. It goes up and up as long as there's exponential growth in infections.
If the season starts off with full capacities I'll be astounded. And if it does it wont be long until it's limited attenadance and then a lock out from grounds as we go into winter.
Honest to God. People have lost their senses if they're willing to put football attendance above their health and others they live with. Throwing themselves over a cliff like some lemming because that nobhead said its ok to re-open full grounds.
Inevitably, covid deaths will go up because of this easing, but as EverTheOptimist (kindred spirit to me?) pointed out, the proportional relationship between infections and deaths is massively changed because of vaccinations. For every extra covid death, there might well be 2 undiagnosed cancer or something deaths saved.
On top of all that, we're all gonna die of something, sometime - I guess about 10k of us a week. We need to live a bit before we die, and extra thousands witnessing great performances, regardless of our club is a good thing, surely? A million times good if we witness our 7-0 demolition of the neighbours with their ex-manager doing it.
The government could reduce 2k annual road deaths to zero if it banned all road travel, but at what cost?
And gentlemen of England, now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhood cheap, while any speaks
That came with us upon Open Goodison Day!
