Full Capacity Stadiums set to be allowed in England for new season

Is it time to open the stadiums at full capacity?

When grounds were locked out it was 800-1500 deaths a day and 60k-80k infections a day.

We are in single digits of deaths per day, it's fully right stadiums and everything else are opening up.

Once the kids and teens age cohort are vaccinated the cases will be down to the 100's a day then eventually no cases.

I guess you want stadiums closed when the Flu bug is rampant in Winters from now on, because that is what the cases numbers will be looking like in July, flu bug numbers.
Because they were too late to lockdown and avoid those deaths - again.

Ings after 5 mins to put Southampton 1-0 up in front of a capacity crowd.

It will be booing in artistic form. I for one will crank the volume up on my stream to the MAX

It's crazy, just 50% for 2 months or 60% would of been fine, but a free for all, insane, packed trains and coaches, madness
Yes.

I know there are vaccines now it's all supposed to be different, but this was less than 18 months ago:

Literally hasn’t been the case.
3 weeks ago the rate was bobing around 3-600a day.
Now the rate is around 25-28000.

Fortunately we haven't seen a massive increase in deaths.

However , worryingly we have seen hospital admissions rise from about 200 per day a week ago to 300 or so a day now.

This thing is far from over and as @davek says Johnson's decision to lift all restrictions in one fail swoop is totally reckless.

Now that England is set to ease Covid restrictions, Prime minister Boris Johnson has announced that full capacity stadiums will be allowed for the new season. How do you all feel about it? Is everyone ready to return to Goodison Park or are some of you hesitant about interacting with that many people so soon?
I’ll be there, missed out for the last 18 months, not arsed who the manager is. I’m also going to be spectacularly drunk.

An average of 20 deaths per day now. It goes up and up as long as there's exponential growth in infections.

If the season starts off with full capacities I'll be astounded. And if it does it wont be long until it's limited attenadance and then a lock out from grounds as we go into winter.

Honest to God. People have lost their senses if they're willing to put football attendance above their health and others they live with. Throwing themselves over a cliff like some lemming because that nobhead said its ok to re-open full grounds.
Inevitably, covid deaths will go up because of this easing, but as EverTheOptimist (kindred spirit to me?) pointed out, the proportional relationship between infections and deaths is massively changed because of vaccinations. For every extra covid death, there might well be 2 undiagnosed cancer or something deaths saved.

On top of all that, we're all gonna die of something, sometime - I guess about 10k of us a week. We need to live a bit before we die, and extra thousands witnessing great performances, regardless of our club is a good thing, surely? A million times good if we witness our 7-0 demolition of the neighbours with their ex-manager doing it.

The government could reduce 2k annual road deaths to zero if it banned all road travel, but at what cost?

And gentlemen of England, now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhood cheap, while any speaks
That came with us upon Open Goodison Day!

I'm ecstatic to be going back, seeing mates I haven't seen for way too long and just having a little bit of normality back in my life.

I'll be ignoring the manager in the home dugout as best I can, but ever hopeful of a good Everton performance and victory, as always.

I get the concern however and totally get people giving it a miss and worrying about transmissions.

I also agree that the complete "big bang" opening up of everything, including football, doesn't seem well reasoned, considered or planned by bongo and his chums - it goes against everything we have been getting told for months and I don't trust a word out of the scruffy gimps mouth.

Im proper buzzin.

Only thing that would make it even better is if @Sassy Colombian and her sister escorted me to and from the ground ploughing me with ale and cheap two for one cocktails ♡
@ForeverBlue92 How about if I make it better next year? but instead of my sis the one escorting me would be the hubby so be ready for one cheap cocktail and two ales lol

BTW, I hope by then you have paid your debt. I have not forgotten and nor shall you ❤️❤️❤️
