GAA 2024

It's shocking that since 1991 we've only had three Cork v Tipp Munster finals 2000, 2005 and 2006. Cork of course won all of those games.

Tipps last Munster final win over Cork was that crazy replay in 1991. I felt Cork should have sealed the deal on both days, but from a Tipperary perspective they did get us back for the 1984 Munster final there.

I've got great respect for Tipp tbh. Cork v Tipperary is a wonderful hurling rivalry. Going right back to the Christy Ring and John Doyle days, and even further than that as well.
My first Munster Final was 91. Tipp looked beaten at HT but Fox turned things around in the 2nd half.

I was brought by by new fianceè!!

We were also at the All Ireland and enjoyed seeing our adopted county KK get beaten by the blue n gold 🪙

I was working in Cork in 89 for the football semi when Dinny Allen got a very raw Keith Barr sent off. Watched it in Garristown before singing in an inter pub talent competition that night

I represented the Jolly Swagman Ballinspittle. I came second. The statues were dancing on my way home 😂😆

Considering that Cork have only beaten Dublin twice in championship football, the end justified the means there from Dinny!

1984 and 1990 are the two Cork v Tipp Munster finals wins i cherish the most, even if i was only less than a month old when the 1984 Munster final was played!

Outside of that the qualifier game in Killarney in 2004 is my favourite Cork v Tipp game. I miss the old instant knockout championship format to be honest with you.

The Cork v Tipp rivalry was at it's best in the years from 1984-1992, but both counties brought out the best in each other imo.

The rivalry Tipp had between Galway in around that same timeframe seemed to be more bitter, and had more of an edge to it.

A facile win for Cork away to Offaly final result Offaly 0-16 Cork 5-28. Cork are away to Wexford next Saturday and i'm expecting a much tougher game from them. I think the footballers are away to Meath on the same afternoon as well.

Big question marks if Tony Kelly will be fit for the championship. Injuries and not producing it in Croke Park I think will keep him from being mentioned in the future amongst the greats in hurling.
What championship games has he missed with injuries
He's a 4 time all star, player of the year winner and one of the top scorers in championship
He's already a great

With about eight minutes to go yesterday in Navan Cork were in serious trouble!

Meath were winning by three points at this stage, but we closed out the game well by scoring the last seven points to no reply from Meath to win by 1-15 to Meaths 1-11.

Our place in division two is secured for next year now. We need one more win against Armagh at home though to avoid the Tailteann Cup.

The hurlers had a surprisingly comfortable win over Wexford in Wexford. Wexfords form was decent enough beforehand but the game was over by half time!

Final result Wexford 1-15 Cork 3-21. Alan Connolly getting a hat trick for Cork as well.

Kilkenny's win over Waterford means that we didn't make the semi finals, but hopefully we'll go on and have a decent championship campaign now.

You could say the same about Munster mate. With exception of 2020 Kerry have won every Munster title, since when we last won Munster in 2012.

Desperate isn’t it mate, you know I’d scrap the provincials, that or I’d amalgamate Leinster and Munster, at least make it a bit competitive. Very similar tired teams in it. And give places in All Ireland to the final 4.

Neither Leinster and Munster aren’t fit for purpose and it gives Dublin and Kerry to much of an advantage, compared to Connacht and Ulster.
