We're not asking for wild baseless positivity tho.

You wont catch myself or any other poster here posting: 'GABRIEL DEFO OURS WERE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE NEXT YEAR'

But you and a few others constantly push negative assertions that there is absolutely no way you can know are true, for example:

'We're doing nothing / Brands is sitting on his arse / we're settling for mediocrity'

None of these statements are backed up by any sort of fact, its all just speculation, do you really, honestly think Brands is not trying to do deals? That he just goes on holiday and plays golf and picks up his paycheck? Do you honestly believe that to be true?

Because there are tonnes of posts along those lines every day and its based on absolutely nothing apart from wet bedsheets

We all accept there is not a lot to be positive about at the minute, nobody is trying to suggest that it is all rosy. But the repetitive, unfounded, negative speculation put across as fact every day is just ridiculous and really tedious

Correct. Be positive or negative, its fine, just dont present pure speculation as fact, that is all thats being asked. That doesn't mean you cant criticise or ask questons, but it just means have perspective and remember that we have no facts as to Brands' day to day, we have no facts over what CA wants to play on the field (he ended with what appeared to be a 4231, but we've seen 4 formations under Carlo so far).

We have no facts as to how much money we have, hell quite the opposite, some say zero, some think 60m etc. We have no facts in where we stand with Gabriel or any other player.

Having an opinion is fine, dismissing others opinion because you're taking speculation as fact, not so much.

With regards to Brands, his role is to be judged over a 4/5 year period, not two years. Nobody appears to want our deadwood, so the task is much bigger than if he had a clean slate or solid foundations. We all think our squad is abysmal, so why would it be easy to flog them?

Sooo Messi is signing for Luton?

Just negotiating over a fee with Barca. Been at the table for a week now but looks like they'll get it over the line as the Saudi royal family from the Newcastle take over are buying them and Messi wants a new challenge.

Can't believe brands has let him slip through our fingers tbh, BRANDS OUT!!!

Anyone blaming Brands or the club for pulling the plug on this deal because of the pandemic is a complete moron. What if we’d have shelled out £25mil on him, or whatever it was, and the football didn’t even restart next season?
At the time, nobody had a clue what was going to happen within the coming weeks, months or even into the next year.

That’s not the problem but carry on

If Ancelotti identified him as a priority, and according to reports, rated so highly as telling Napoli he was a potential replacement for Koulibaly when at Napoli - then I'd be disappointed.

Still, we can't fume at the club for overpaying and then fume when they try to get cheaper deals.

Wouldn't be annoyed if we pulled out of the deal because of Corona then got gazumped. Realistically a sensible decision.

Would be very very annoyed if this was another Zouma situation and we have zero plan B / try to panic loan arbitrary garbage like Rojo on deadline day

That makes no sense though, I'm no director of football but if you wanted a young, up and coming centre back and couldn't get him why would your next target be essentially a journeyman centre back rather than another young up and coming centreback?
We already have a few on the young side in Holgate, Mina, and Branthwaite. If he’s cheapish and cover for a couple seasons, then no issue. Remember, Mina is still only 25.

You can when you miss out on said player.

Anyway doesn’t matter now it’s been and gone, time to move on.

Being Koulibaly’s heir in the first team, living in Naples, CL football and legitimate chances of domestic trophies.

or.

Playing between Keane Coleman and Siggurdson. No european football, no trophies.

How have we lost our FFS.

Not sure. I'd sooner we missed on on say, Iwobi than pay what we did for him.

For me it depends how much Ancelotti rated/wanted him. Trying to read between the lines (Ancelotti's public comments, credible reports saying we were trying to bring him in as early as April, Ancelotti's former club wanting him to replace Koulibaly etc) then I would be annoyed if we pulled out for penny pinching for what seems to be a priority target so I guess that makes me a
