Transfer Rumour Gabriel (Lille)

Why is it always unnamed, absolute jarg rumour, if it had any legs the club would be named, never seen such a blatant attempt to push the price up.

I like to imagine he's just been sat at home with a pen and paper weighing up the pros and cons of each team that want him for the last 3 months.

Also, people saying that they're not too bothered about him, I feel that we'd be able to play a bit more on the front foot, with a bit higher of a defensive line if we were to bring him in. Yes, Keane is performing well but that is by virtue of playing a deep defensive line, the only way he ever looks comfortable. It makes us more solid at the back but it also asks more of our limited midfielders to progress the ball.

If we improve our midfield, meaning us having more of the ball and pushing further up the field then once again Keane will become a big liability as the higher he is up the pitch the more uncomfortable he becomes, and the more attackers will be able to expose him.

That's a good point especially away we have to sag deeper to cover for Keane's lack of pace. This there is a massive gap between the defensive midfield and attack. At home it's not so noticeable because often we are on the front foot and pushing forward. Even then Holgate covers for alot of Keane's lack of pace.

The funny things are that:

1: Weve seen the same performances in the past from Keane with a deep defence.

2: We cant play a high line with Keane so that could hamper Ancelottis tactics

3: He may well turn to mush once crowds are back.

In terms of our midfield not creating chances Digne, Gabriel and a quality RB would all create chances. Gabriels long passing is fantastic and would be a weapon on the counter.

Soon to be Brazilian national team centre back which also highlights to clubs and players the quality we have in the side.

Probably keeps Richarlison as well and could encourage Emerson to join too.

Imagine if he became top class somewhere else, people would moan.

Im fairly easy on who comes into midfield at the moment, if we sign Gabriel and Emerson a lot of problems evaporate.

If someone has outbid Napoli, I would say that is highly unlikely to be us.

Whys that? Anyway id imagine we would just match the bid...seems odd anyone would offer slightly more. Pointless.

Agree with this.
Arsenal are trying to get Malang Sarr on a free.
Lille fleeced us enough last year.

Not sure Sarr is good enough to be honest

I like Sarr as a left sided centre back in a 3.

I think the majority have hyped this guy up after watching him play a small amount, I hear he's decent but there's afew decent defenders out their

he's still young as far as being good enough and would be the only left footed CB in our squad

I think him being on a free in a time of Covid is making him very in demand, with how gash Sanchez and Foyth are I can see Spurs being in for him as well

I was on about Gabriel, wouldn't be surprised but they don't have any money just think this Gabriel is abit over rated by our fans
