Transfer Rumour Gabriel (Lille)

I guess its my own fault for believing the media, but Lille were meant to have sold players last week or face sanctions.

Im not even seeing anything regarding that fella they were selling to Napoli anymore.

...Football Insider quote an ‘Everton source’ suggesting the deal is collapsing because Lile and Everton cannot agree a fee. Everton prepared to pay £20m with add-ons, Lille want £30m.

Everton have agreed a lucrative 5 year deal with the player.
@Eggs when are you starting your daily transfer round up? Much appreciated by me and I’d suggest many others in here.

Im in the Gabriel thread. The guy who has said that he wants to move to a team which gives him the best chance of cementing a full national team place for Brazil.

It seems you thought you were in the Tom Davies thread?
What in the world does that have to do with my comments about Gabriel?

Bizzaro

Gotta feeling if any of Keane and Mina are to be sold then it's Yerry, can probs fetch a decent fee, and removes reliance on a player with injury woes.

Would be more than happy with Holgate, Keane, Gabriel and Branthwaite as our CB options in a season without Europe.

no harm signing him mate. The thought of holgate in midfield fills me with joy. It will balance the team immensely.

Holgate’s performances in midfield have definitely been blown out of proportion. He did a good job filling in during an injury crisis, but he still looked very much like a centre back playing in midfield. He is our best centre back, I’m against moving him from that position.

Agreed, if you get a player who does very well in a position.. let him there.

I think he will be better than the lad from Southampton. Overpriced and nothing special.

Not sure I would want us to spend a significant chunk of our transfer budget on a centre back. Unless we sell Mina, who I like, but is injury prone. We need another but perhaps an older more experienced player who won't cost as much. The talk of Thiago Silva seems to have gone pretty quiet though.

Pretty far apart, and I don't think that CB merits that level of investment. Good on Brands for channelling his inner Levy and holding the line on this one for the desired price.
