New kit is out in a couple of days.

I'll be picking a shirt up for my lad and usually get a name on the back for him.

Out of the full squad there's only Digne and Richarlison I'd consider worthy of paying for (but I'm not 100% convinced Richy will be here come the new season tbh).

What a sad state of affairs that is.

Sigurdsson, Iwobi and Walcott don't float your boat?

You might get the shirt half price with one of those names on the back.

If that is the case, and it is as good an explanation as any for the way the players have been conducting themselves in games, then Carlo has to identify the ring leaders and get rid of them. There will be a financial cost to it but it is very necessary. I expect to see quite a number of players leaving this summer. I don’t care if we don’t make it into the top 6 next year, however nice that would be, if I can see a team trying it’s best for the supporters, club and manager.
The energy and drive they played with when big Dunc was boss suggests he might have brought them into line or they fell into line of their own accord?

When I was writing that I did wonder how players would be allowed to slack under big Dunc but that sort of thing is like an illness when it sets in. It can creep up on you in instalments without anyone noticing. If it has set in at Everton it may be more than players that need moving on. Our club has needed a root and branch clear out for years. I thought it was going to happen when Brands and Silva came together, a new young dynamic manager with a steadying hand on his shoulder, unfortunately he wasn’t good enough.
I hope Carlo has enough fight left in him to take our club apart, from board to cleaning staff, and put us back together, keeping our values, with a winning mentality.
Is that too much to ask for?

Just get Allan mate.

Then if we dont sign him you can just re-name your child Allan and job done.

I have watching Everton since the early sixties when I was very young - pre teen. I have to say in all these years I have never seen an Everton team this bad, it is beyond belief.

Carlo needs to get the axe out and start swinging.

They ain't the only ones

Machine gun. Preferably two.

I totally agree and I would be disappointed if Ancelloti allowed the training grounds to be an easy place for those who aren't interested in putting a good shift in.

How things have changed in a relatively short time, I read that when SAF was at UTD when a new player came into the club it was the captain who made it clear what was expected of them on and of the pitch, it sounds like quite a formal regimented relationship SAF had with his troops (and a winning one!).

I doubt this system is still in place, but in my opinion, it's how it should be done.

I managed my local team a few years ago. We were going through a transformation with a lot of players reaching the end of their time and I replaced them with good young players but we couldn’t win games. Everything about the team was flat. I brought back a former captain and while he didn’t deserve a place on what he done with his feet he transformed the team. Right away the noise in the changing room went up, the combative nature changed and he laid down the law on what was expected from them on the pitch. Anyone who has ever managed a team at any level will know the disappointment you get when you have talked to all the players on how to play and when they cross the white line it all gets forgotten and they run around headless. If you haven’t got enough players to replace the worst cases then you have trouble. This is where we are now, it will take millions and time to sort it out, but mostly it will take the will to do so.

I mean the problems are clear to see, whilst we still have this squad any manager who comes in will have an impossible task.

I know it’s very Mourinho, and I know it’s really bad in the long run and it’s unprofessional but I would love for someone to come out and point blank call out the bad apples and the absolute wasters we have for my own selfish amusement
I think the time for calling out the bad apples is long gone, its time to start making an example out of them, intensified training everyday, training with the youth teams, boot cleaning ,maintenance jobs around the ground ,generally make their lives a lot harder, and if they refuse or dont turn up then you can get shot of them,we have been too soft for too many years on too many wasters, its time for the gloves to come off,a clear message needs to come out of this football club that zero effort will not be tolerated
