Gardening with Joey

I had murder with getting rid of my bamboo,25 ft long about 10 foot high hedge, had two gardeners look at it neither wanted the job.
Tried all sorts of chemicals to get rid, ended up , chopping it down to ground level, dug a bit around the rootball then , used a Drill fairly big one , had a concrete breaking chisel on it (got it from the lidi )and just chipped away at the root from the outside inwards, had the lot up after a day and a half, you have to make sure you get every bit out some of the shoots go out about 5 or six foot out.
Been a year now get the odd little bit but easy to get out with a trowel .
Wasnt as bad as I thought when you got the knack of it
More boring than hard work really.
When I moved in to my current house, the garden was overrun with the stuff. I ended up using a hedge trimmer to cut it to ground level, then a pickaxe to chip/lever the roots out. Took me a very long time over several months.

As a souvenir, I kept a small clump of roots in an old bucket I had lying around. The stuff is thriving even in there, 4 years later.
