Definitely. Will give Mo and Mac time and opportunity to gel.I agree. This was one of his better matches but I am still glad that he will miss the next few games.
No pace and relies on 'defending' by tripping people up intentionally. Sooner he is gone from the starting XI the better. He played well last night I just wish he would hold back on some of his tackles
Exactly. Although he's doing the right thing for the team, from the team's perspective we need someone in there who isn't going to be caught in the first place. For a player who rarely ventures from infront of the back four his lack of pace results in players going past him and they're straight at our defense. You look back at all of his yellows just about all of them are "professional fouls".
His problem is his lack of leg speed allows players to run past him so whilst he's doing the right thing for the team and I am glad he does it it really does show his lack of leg speed becoming a problem.
Banned for 2.
Disaster waiting to happen. Bye Barry. No pace and relies on 'defending' by tripping people up intentionally. Sooner he is gone from the starting XI the better.
Both where yellow cards but I agree. Barry played well. He was just caught out twice by the quick feet of the Chelsea players.I thought he had his best game of the season last night. Unlucky with both bookings really.
The problem with Barry is more systematic than that.Exactly. Although he's doing the right thing for the team, from the team's perspective we need someone in there who isn't going to be caught in the first place. For a player who rarely ventures from infront of the back four his lack of pace results in players going past him and they're straight at our defense.
I think he's a good player and can start games but he shouldn't be starting every single game and playing 90 minutes. It's asking for trouble. Taking off besic who, fair enough puts himself about a bit more and was on a yellow too but also has much better athleticism so can recover his position better than Barry was a terrible decision. I said it at the time. Then Martinez brings on Gibson but leaves Barry on.
Barry is still going to be a good player for us but Martinez expecting him to start every game and play the full 90 is poor player management I think. Especially yesterday when he brought Gibson on anyway.
