Gareth Barry

Barry will be good a handyman. Getting on a bit but he'll definitely suit our style of play. We've been saying "how are we going to give our strikers service?" This signing goes a long way to answering this question.

Plus it's a World Cup year so hopefully that means he has an Indian Summer to his career to try and force his way back into the England squad.

He came across really well in his interview today whilst on England duty.

Of the various possible midfield and striker loan signings possible in this window I reckon Barry and Lukaku are high on that list

He was very good when he was at Villa but, if I was England manager, I would have dropped him a lot sooner. He doesn't look the most mobile of players these days.

Is Gibson "mobile"? was Xavi "Mobile" was Mario Gomez "mobile" what about Pirlo or Schwinsteiger or even Carsley and Graversen?

goin off other resumes I've seen this thread makes me an ITK right (y)

Just playing ...as for Barry...

He's better than Heitinga
He's better than Osman
He's better then Gibson
He's better than Pienaar
He is on par with fellaini, mcarthy and in the past has been better than him

Will more than likely turn permanent and is a better cm than we already have/recently had

Therefore an improvement

Therefore a win for Everton

"****ing city, always so god damn awful on the transfer marked. What a complete and utter joke if he's sold to everton. When will the ****ing everton charity stop? Lescott, Rodwell and now barry. God why."

Made me chuckle. We have done them over, on and off the pitch.

They're clueless, mate. I went sea fishing a few weeks ago, and shared a boat with 3 City supporters. The bollocks they spout is unreal. Their faces were a picture when they asked which team I supported. It appears they really despise Everton. My Bolton supporting mate was intent on throwing the gobby one over the side, but settled with threatening him with a mackerel. He piped down after that.

How was buying Lescott and Rodwell charity to us?

Losing Lescott when we did nearly wrecked our whole season

Top pro, good leader. Good player, all round good lad. Delighted we brought him in. Gives us some experience and will play that role infront of the defenders that we need. Osman can't do it.

Spoke to a city ST holder today (wife's mates, husband). Spoke a lot of sense, said Barry would do an excellent job for us sat in front the back 4. When I asked him has he lost his pace, laughing said he didn't have pace to begin with. Said technically he is good, but was a little inconsistent when not playing every week. He thinks playing regularly at everton, will improve his consistency as he won't be sat on the bench most weeks. Interesting that he said the player that will see the most benefit at Everton was James McCarthy. He said a year training with and playing with Barry, will be a plus for him. Something I agreed on. Basically time will tell if he right.

Good shout that. Always interesting to hear an assesment from someone who actually watch the lad week in week out.
