Priority no 1 in the summer transfer window, when you think they spend 60 odd million on Fernandhino and Garcia.

Madness.

He must be on mega wedge at City, i was thinking afterwards mate - im sure they are paying part of his wage with us, surely he will have to take a pay cut to sign and imagine a chunk of a signing on fee to compensate.

The defensive midfielder role that he occupies in front of the Everton defensive line utilises Barry's strengths perfectly and can be seen in the number of interceptions made (9) and the fact that after 14 tackles Barry still has a 100% success rate. The position also allows other midfielders, such as Ross Barkley and Leon Osman, to have a bigger influence in the attacking third.

With an average pass accuracy of 85%, his best passing performance coming against Hull with 89% (looked at last week on the site), and the only players to have completed more passes per match than Barry (73.4) are Carrick (80.2) and Yaya Toure (80.1).

Must admit, didn't think too much of this signing, backup for Gibson maybe... At the time obviously. Good work RM, the guys quality.

Offer him a contract and then sell him for a mil or two. Instant profit we could spend on something else.

Hope that's sarcasm!! He'll be on a free, we wont have to pay as high of wages as he's on now, and we'll finally have some depth in that center midfield with gibson and barry. If that isn't enough, he's been absolutely boss so far and deserves to play a huge role in the first team next year.

What a stupid comment, he's been boss and gives a sense of urgency to our build up play, AND he loves to leave a foot in!

Stop thinking with your FIFA hat on, he's not going to suddenly drop OVR just cause he's 32 or whatever, give the lad a two- year contract I say.

Are you being funny? there no such word as free in transfers, you have to pay him a signing on fee, his agent fees, and plus solicitors fees for drawing up contracts. Then when we sell him without him asking, we would have to pay him a loyalty bonus which will be around 1 year wages.
