Why are you adding it up? That £11m js irrelevant as its not upfront, but spread over 3yrs which is something we can afford.

All the agents and players know with the new tv money that clubs have more moolah than usual this year. Wages will sky rocket, as the players will be hawked about and the likes of QPR, West Ham will be offering silly deals to get players in.

Did Rooney cost united £60M when he signed a deal? Did Suarez cost liverpool £60M when he signed his?

No...because no one is ar5ed when it comes to wages. The press have just seized this to make Everton look like morons and fans are buying into it.

From whats been said, part of the loan agreement was that if he signs for Everton afterwards, we would pay city £1M

If the news was 'Barry signs for Everton for £1M' then everyone would be made up. Because the Mirror spin it that were spending £11M on him, suddenly everyone is a Chief Exec responsible for the finances of a football club.

Mental...

Article is clueless, first it quotes the sun then claims we're charitably going to give City £2m for a player who isn't theirs. 3 years is a gamble, but even if he's good for 2 of the 3 he can still coach the young ones, players like him are invaluable.

Well yes, a few people reported the value of the contract. It's not uncommon for them to report it like this, don't know why people are getting upset by this.

Plus, the 2 million quid thing seems a bit jarg to me. Unless, City had it written in the loan deal back in August, and with it being last minute we would have agreed to it. Bloody hell, i'm convincing myself here as its typical of Everton to look at issues short term and worry about the long term situations at a later date.

Bizarre way to report it.

Possibly the usual dig by the media? they reckon we will pay £11m (yer right) for a 33 yr old
While the RS get the deal of the century with paying £4m for a 32 yr old????????????

Maybe true, we never paid his full wages did we? I'm sure City still paid quite a bit, might have agreed with them if he signs for us in the summer we pay them a fee. With it being last minute in August as well, we would have said yes.

Possible if you think about it.

I can't see why he wouldn't be able to perform a role at 36. He doesn't rely on pace, his strength, positioning and passing are not going to diminish in a three year time period. Defo happy with him for three years.

I'd be less than happy paying City two mil, but that is likely nonsense.
