We've signed no one as of yet, and considering people earlier was saying Villa have no money and the Villa are jealous of us spending money. I pointed out that they have spent more than us in the past two seasons.

Thats because our manager has only just returned from the world cup whilst one of our major transfer targets was playing in a quarter final only several days ago.

But don't worry. We'll pay 2million to city that we don't need to if we follow your advice

Theyre our competitors.

We wouldn't loan them Barkley or Garbutt. Why should they loan us anyone actually any good.

Barcelona aren't our competitors domestically. It makes sense them loaning players to us.

Does anyone think that loaning us Barry would of been anything other than as a favour to Barry himself. They weren't doing it as a favour to Bill Kenwright. Everton. Or anyone associated with the club.
They loaned us Barry to get a good chunk of the wages of a highly paid player off their books who they were barely going to use. It was a decision that worked for them, us and for Barry - no favours required. They might consider future loans for similar reasons, like loan us Rodwell for a year so we can trial him to see if he falls to bits.

If you consider City a major rival then by that yardstick so are Chelsea and they loaned us Lukaku for experience and to take points off their other rivals whilst we could not use Lukaku in our matches against them. City have invested a lot in their academy and will have players that might get into our squad/backup that would not get into City's.

Anyone in the top 4 are our rivals.

For a champions league spot

Even with a competitor you can do mutually advantageous deals

Chelsea only loaned us lukaku as they didn't expect us to be competing for a champions league spot.

Barry since he was out of contract in a year.

City's acadamy won't produce anything of note for years.

Considering the Manchester United manager is still at the world cup working im amazed they have signed two players on the basis of what you said.

Not my advice, if you sign an agreement you abide by it. We can try and shandy out of it but City will drag it out so we either pay it or he gets bored and signs for some one else.

I'm sure when Gosling left us, you laughed and said " Well played Dan "

Its the nature of business. You win some you lose some.

A good business man aims to win more than he/she loses.

However if you were experienced the greater the risk the bigger the reward.

A good businessman makes calculated risks.

Man united are just addressing what they didn't do last season.

Signing enough players. Its not anyone they weren't after already.

Honesty and integrity, not an important part of business??

Where's this talk of non-compete agreements come from? If the £2M fee exists, it's a "No win, no fee" type clause in the loan deal. There's no restriction of trade involved in us saying that we will pay City anything.

Whatever happens, you can rest assured that City won't have drafted anything unenforceable, nor will we have signed it on the off-chance that a court will strike it out. Massive bunch of clowns though our board may be, these are hundred million pound businesses with expensive lawyers, not two men and a dog.

No point losing sleep over whether a clause that may or may not exist is enforceable until we've actually paid it. Which we might not anyway because several other clubs are no doubt quite capable of offering him better personal terms than we are.
