£60k a week is not bad imho.
He's been fantastic for the development of McCarthy alone, and obviously provides alot, but maybe there are other things we don't know, do we knoiw we aren't delaying it for other reasons? What about us looking at other targets?

I still think this is a case of where Barry finds himself in the merry-go-round. My hunch is that his preference is to play in MLS for the New York City franchise, but they would prefer Lampard, who is yet to make up his mind. I don't think they would take both, so he is left waiting for Lampard to decide. I doubt he'd go anywhere else in the Prem than us. Don't forget, he held out on deadline day last year to sign for us, played a key role in the team and he doesn't strike as the kind of guy purely motivated by money.

Surely if that was true we'd just sign him on a 1 year contract pay a low fee then give him a contract extension.
Its not his wages its the agreed fee approx. 2 million with man city on his last loan agreement!
