i agree with ijjy, thought his positional sense was off and he was poor and possibly could have been subbed for besic with 15 mins left, especially as he was treading on thin water.

but i've just seen the mcgeady threat and having the same POV as ijjy may mean that i'm already admitting defeat

I'd go with you then.

My stream was utter durge. And being at the game is a much better judgement.

Barry is saved.

I still can't quite out a finger on what happened....

He was very good mate. Best player for us by far. He was exposed when our front 4 were shattered after 70 minutes - Martinez should really have made subs then to keep our forward line pressing high. We sat back too much and our back-line weren't good enough this time.

On a side note, I was really disappointed with Distin today. He's normally solid as with maybe one slip-up which he'll recover. But he had a dreadful game today.
Agree with his the subs done us today and besides those two goals I don't think kasper made a single save

They were just 10 minutes too late. Kev and Ossie/Besic/Coleman should've been on after 75 at the latest.

he was no worse than anyone else... Lukaku was woeful to say the least
is this the general view of the Everton fans or do any of them think that Morgan did OK against him? I thought Morgan was excellent and Lukaku average... rather than it being entirely Lukaku having a poor game?

Thought he played well. Wanting the ball all the time. I don't think he was fortunate to stay on as the way I seen it he didn't commit and was pulling out of it. That's the way I think the ref saw it also. He looked a little leggy but so did the rest of the team

Morgan did ok against Lukaku but to be honest he did not really have to do much to keep him quiet.. personally i don't think the lad is good enough and the money spent on him could of been used to strengthen the squad but i'm sure many will disagree

I watched the full replay of the game yesterday, and thought Barry did fairly well, he was always an available passing outlet and seemed to be the only one winning headers in the middle of the pitch. I think we looked less shaky at the back when he would drop into those deeper roles than we did when it was just Jagielka and Distin or even the full back 4.

Think some are letting the result cloud their assessment of the individual players, Barry was fine.

Constantly seeking out possession, Barry regularly tops the passing charts and he did so again at the Hawthorns, attempting 73 passes, the most of any player on the pitch. The former Manchester City man makes this side tick; he is the starting point for countless attacking moves while a game-high four interceptions underlined his impeccable positional sense and shrewd reading of the game.
