He plays every game as well. The man's a machine! So glad we signed him in the summer, yet another good solid performance apart from a few teething problems as he and Jags settled into new positions.
He doesn't often get MOTM but he is rarely outside my top 3 of choices.
He is, think the international breaks help as he gets to rest for the two weeks. He plays every game as well. The man's a machine!
Think Besic already is to be honest. Thought he did well when he came on.He is, think the international breaks help as he gets to rest for the two weeks.
Last season he started to slow down in the New Year when he was playing every game and not getting those rests. Hopefully Besic and Gibson will be up to full match sharpness by then to ease some of the burden.
Can he fit back in center back? He probably would do well beside jageilka. He can pass out of defense, strong, has a bit of aggro would read the game well and has a fat ass to block shots. Could be the a decent centre back. Besic can do midfield no prob with some experience. Still young but Jamie mac and him could be a dead decent pair next year
But you can equally say the same of John Terry who the past two seasons has been superb for Chelsea. As long as the side is set up to accomodate it, for instance covering pace in the other CB/midfielder in front/fullback, then it shouldn't expose us too badly. IIRC McCarthy switched over to take Barry's left CM role to help in the Swansea game.Loved him playing at centre back, every time the ball was passed to him or he intercepted it, he knew exactly where he was going to pass it to. No dallying about with it or needless passing side to side, simple receive and deliver it forwards.
But like the poster above I wouldn't have wanted him to get into a foot race with Bony, Dyer, Routledge or Montero.
