you've given one game out of the 100 plus games he's played for us. There are far more where hes looked vulnerable. We will never improve with players on their last legs.
And there has been plenty plenty more where he has been effective too. I'm not going to tell you he's our best midfielder or he should be playing every game, but we have to be realistic. He's a fabulous option who will and can help us see out games which will be even more important this season because it looks like we're going to struggle to score more than one goal a game.

Gana when missing last season made us look crap, Schneids filled that void but when he got injured we looked crap again. Davies then stepped in to fill that void but he's young and cannot be replied upon every game, god forbid he gets injured.

After that we have besic/mccarthy who have spent more time on the injury table than they have on a pitch for Everton in recent times. They are unreliable/ potentially worth decent money and could be sold in this window still.

I'd say Barry has plenty of value left in an EFC shirt.

He's finished mate. If we had any ambition we'd sign players capable of taking us to the next level

We cannot continue keeping these OAP's in a side that outsiders consistently say Everton needs to reduce the average age. Moyes said it for years, as did Martinez.

Koeman has signed about 15 players under the age of 24 mert.

Mate, he's not finished.

Granted, as @Abraders says, he's not going to be a starter, but he's ideal for the situation we hope to find ourselves in... going deep into four competitions and needing a 'steady Eddie' to see out games and keep some of the other players fresh.

Mate if you're good enough you're good enough.

'Outsiders' will tell you 'you don't win anything with kids'. Does that mean it's right?

Is Zlatan crap now cos he's 35?

Just because he's old doesn't mean he isn't good ffs. Barry is a player who has never ever relied on pace and is in a completely different place to williams/jags who are declining with age for example because they relied upon the former. Barry is a clever player whom has been credited highly by all managers he's played under.

Are you Elliot Bretland?
Because like he, I find myself disagreeing with every single one of your opinions.
Granted, that's what a forum is for but where is the context of yours?
GazBaz is 'finished' as a 38 game starter but if he was so appalling why hasn't Koeman shipped him out? Why did he give him a new contract?
Do you think Koeman is one for sentimentality?
Madness. Absolute madness.

Apart from being an experienced model pro, Barry I would imagine is also a huge asset to have around the club. I actually hope that when he hangs up his boots he is given a job on the coaching staff within the youth system.
