George Green: In the Spotlight

Just because a player plays in one position as a youngster does not mean that is their best position. Take for example Milner, was a striker at first, then winger, then CM then anywhere he needs to do a job. Quite the opposite of the Rooney mk 2 that he was made out to be at Leeds.

Out of the three mentioned, Ledson could be deeper, barkley in front and green as a winger/striker depending on his talents. You never know.

But the prospect of suddenly thinking of where these players are going to fit in is a massive improvement on previous years under someone else.

You need competition mate. No point just having 1 player in each position
Not to the point where it could massively slow down a players career, lid.
Not to the point where it could massively slow down at least one lad's career though mate. Only Barkley out of the 3 can really play deeper as well.

Surprised that video is still up, it was made years ago. Doesn't do him any favours.

It's the sort of thing that the likes of the Daily Mail will jump all over if he eventually makes it.

Barkley will be a deeper midfielder in the future, no doubt about it for me. Not that it would be a problem anyway. Hope Green makes it, but he's got a long way to go yet.

Why Barkley deeper rather than just Mccarthy and 2 in front? Just posing the question there....green could possibly be making the squads soon which would be exciting and good for the scouting / academy network.

he'll need to add goals to his game to get a look in! (obviously this is all tongue in cheek when 2 of them arent even near the 1st team)

All this points to a diamond formation.

Just started other thread on this similar topic. If these players all came through with the hype backed up then we'd have one of the top centre midfields in world football.

Ledson/Green should be playing alongside each other for the reserves shouldnt they -- wouldnt it help when theyre moved into the first team?

Before you click on the play button, it looks as if he is about to give a demonstration on how Barkley's knee explodes...

"Everton starlet likened to Goodison legends Gascoigne and Rooney ..."

Neither of those people are Goodison legends ... Gazza FFS?

Lots of kids have natural talent ... the real question is does he work/train hard and learn well? That's what an article like this should tell us because that is what will determine whether he'll make it or not.

Just LOL at the photo of Gazza.

Spit of this guy from Men in Black.

...great that folk are picking the formation for 2019 when Saturday's team is up for debate. Green looks the part but we've seen lads with potential fall by the wayside. This lad seems a bit cocky, not lacking confidence. Its often those type who come through.

This all day long. Don't need another talent falling down the leagues before his career began. John Paul Kissock already has the tag of the 'non league Messi'.
