Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

There was one time where he had moved a bit centrally with the ball then stood up front when we lost it, leaving Coleman with two men before Barkley had to come across. He didn't even bother jogging back let alone sprinting. We can't let him do stuff like that.

After a shaky first few minutes, he looked absolute class and became increasingly influential as the game went on.

If he's doing that against supposed title challengers, after hardly any time on the pitch all season thus far, imagine what he'll be like after a run of games?

He's an absolute must to start next week's game vs Stoke. He's got momentum now; it would be a mistake by Roberto to have him just as a sub again. He's going to have to let him off the leash at some point and next week would be a good game to do that.

The thing is that's his game. He's not there to defend, which is an Everton thing to do (I know). If you make him more defensive will it diminish his attacking qualities. Adam Johnson is a prime example of this.

I thought his attacking was superb, needed better finishing.
However I was shocked at how whenever he lost the ball or Liverpool had it he just walked around. He had no interest in putting a defensive shift in. I'm pretty sure I saw Barkley telling him to go help Coleman at some point. Just looked like he had such a poor attitude.

Well no, but if every player aside from the back 4 and the two sitting midfielders just swerved off defending we'd get battered every week. If it's not his game he needs to make it his game.

I'd play him upfront too. He has the pace to go beyond the last defender! I think he'd be a boss striker.

And nah I wouldn't myself, maybe he'd have the pace but his hold up play would be absolutely useless and he wouldn't win one header.

He'd be great next to lukaku Imo, looked great when he went through the middle today until the finish. Lukaku's hold up play and combination play is very low par tbh

I think some were watching a different game to me if they can't see the impact he made on us going forward.... goes past players like they aren't there. Just needs to be a bit more clinical with his final pass/shot
